I woke up to this problem this morning and was told by delta it could either be the cartridge or the check valves assembly. For me it was the check valves. The plastic developed a small crack. Very simple process to replace the parts.
faucet needs new gaskets and springs located below the handle. remove handle, loosen collar nut and remove, pull cartridge out straight up, remove gaskets and springs, take to local Home Depot and buy new and replace. install cartridge, install collar nut, install handle. All finished.

I dont know the modle fauset you have ,but it sounds like your cartridge has turned in the valve body. It should lock into place in the valve body with a tang in the cartridge and a slot or groove in the fauset body. If the whole cartridge assembly turns in the fauset it will couse this problem.

Put in valve and feel for debris or turn on whole house again for a few seconds to flush out valve. try another cartridge. Or try this first. take off handle and push in on stem. does drip stop. ? perhaps handle is not on right.
