37HL67 37 in. HDTV LCD Televison - My Toshiba was working fine and then it started to whiteout lighter images on the screen. I tried readjusting the brightness, color and contrast settings, but they did not help. Unplugging the TV from the electrical outlet and repluging the TV into the outlet after a day helped solve the problem for about an hour and then the problem returned.

The tv Tuner signal board is the problems that causes this whiteout. Its the board, that take in the incoming broadcasting cable signal (plugged into it)
I would suspect either the main board or the t-con board, with the main being the most likely cause. Without an oscilloscope its going to be hard to isolate between the two. Most commonly its the main pcb. The main will have the tuner mounted to it where the rf cable is connected.

I have a Toshiba 51h83. Everything works fine except there is an issue where the colors are slightly lighter on both the left and right sides of the screen.

this is normal with rear projection tv's its from long usage when the tv isnt always in full screen mode. you can sometimes fix this by replacing the bulb/ or the color board for the projector. also you can replace the screen as it seems like it may also be do to image burn in if it wasnt always in full screen mode. (did this for my uncles Mitsubishi projection tv)

let me know if that helps!

Toshiba Satellite A105 Display

If you've replaced the LCD Panel already, then chances are good, the failing part may be the FLR inverter. It's a thin little chip about 3 or 4 inches in length that bridges the connection between the LCD and the motherboard. It's location varies from computer to computer though, so you may have to check with manufacturer documentation. They're not too terribly expensive to replace though, much cheaper than the LCD panel, anyways.
