Most probably there is a lose contact which heats up and deforms during usage, or can be deformed with the slightest pressure in your hands - therefore it can be switched on only when it either cools down and your press it in some particular way. Or both simultaneously.
This problem will never fix itself - ff you really want to use your phone and trust that it will work, you should ask a repairman to fix it.
Is the warranty period still lasting? Then you should ship it back to the dealer/manufacturer. First you will be required to cover the shipping costs, but you should arrange that they refund these costs if they find out that the problem with phone was not your fault. That's because consumer law in any civilized country states that the seller shall cover all expenses related to warranty service repair if it wasn't your fault, but you should cover all costs if the problem was caused by you.
If the nearest HTC warranty service is far away, and you don't want to spend long time to have it fixed - then it might be more useful to find a repairman in your proximity (unofficial repair services are usually quite cheap).
