Force your computer to start in Safe Mode. To do that, hold down the F5 key when you start up and keep holding it until you see that your PC has booted to Safe Mode. (Another way to do this is to hold down the F8 key during boot time until you’re presented with the Windows Startup Menu and then choose Safe Mode from the list of options presented there.
When you’re in Safe Mode Windows skips the Config.sys and Autoexec.bat files and loads a minimal set of drivers that lets your PC function at a basic level. Then do a systme restore while on safe mode......
Hope that helps..........
First you need to go into the computer's BIOS (usually by pressing F2, F1, or DEL when the computer's logo appears, it may tell you which button to press to get into setup). In there, you need to change your boot priority so that your cd drive will boot first. Then you can boot off your cd you just created to clear the password.
Im not a computer genius but this is what i would do. reboot the computer and hold down f8 until, hopefully this will give you a startup menu. choose 'safe mode' and try to boot the computer, if successful you can do a system restore under start-programs-system tools-system restore.
hope it helps
Mike
When you start your computer up, before the windows logo comes. tap f8 untill you see the startup menu with safe mode etc. Select safe mode and start up. see if you can login in safe mode. Try Administrator and no password, also your own user.
If not we may have to use a password recovery cd.
you can download the cd image from
http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/
you need to burn it to a cd on another computer and make sure your computer starts with the cd first. that has to be changed in the bios if not set that way yet.
you need to enter the computers bios and make sure it starts from a cd.

Did you extract the cd image from inside the zip file and then burned the ISO cd image to the cd?

A
quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer
and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer.
Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset
it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print
again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.
If
that doesn't help, try the steps below:
1.
Disconnect the printer from your computer.
2.
Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
2.
On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
3.
Delete the Lexmark print object.
4.
Reboot your pc.
5.
When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.
6.
Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control
Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the
list again, then try to print again.
You
may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at .
Select your operating system, download and execute the file.
If the problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Did try to register as administrator. CURSOR did NOT move or accept my name. No, I don't have a password or username, although it asked for Vicky or administrator. I did try to sign in as Vicky. Cursor did NOT MOVE or accept Vicky. Please HELP!!!
Burned and booted a CD downloaded from Offline NT Password & Registry Editor (cd080526.zip). Booting was the same as before. Signage asked for: MAINDOWN\Vicky or administrator. When typing administrator, cursor did not move but the following appeared below the password line (which I could not access: "MAINDOWN (this computer)" OK. When clicking on OK, this line disappeared, the other two lines remained.
What else can I try?
I tried rebooting and holding F8 down as suggested. What I got was the following:
System restart has been paused:
(highlighted one of two choices) Continue with system restart
Delete
When rebooting and holding down F8 yielded:
System restart has been paused:
Continue with system restart. (or)
Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu.
I clicked on "Continue with system restart" and got my wallpaper." I was afraid to click on the second choice.
What else can I try.
