We are working with a yamaha HTR-6240. The memory guard is locked on and we wont to use auto setup. Also, as it is currently set, we are getting a lot of volume from our rear speakers and very little from our center and front speakers, any thoughts?

My HTR 3063 is not producing any sound

The YPAO isn't on the 3063 model. only 4063 and up. If this is used and you can't get your money back, there is a firmware file here http://download.yamaha.com/search/product/?language=en&site=ca.yamaha.com&product_id=1436250 that can help get your receiver running correctly.

Yamaha HTR-5830 does not work with Sony PS3 optical cable connection. There is no sound at all. Do I need an HDMI cable. Right now I only have component cables which work fine with the red and white...

Make sure you have the "audio input mode" on "Auto" it's a small button on the front of the Yamaha. Then go into the PS3's Audio setup and make sure it's set to Digital. Hope this helps

Can't set TV code on Yamaha rav293 remote

i had the same problem with the same remote but just figured it out. on the remote, to the left of the "DOCK" button, you'll see two buttons labeled "[A]" and [B] which is what you'll use as the TV source button. press the code set button, wait for it to blink two times, then press the [A] button, and press your code. VOILA! problem solved. you could also use the [B] button, but it doesn't really matter. now the tv controls work on the remote. you may have to go through all the codes for your manufacturer but eventually it should work
