Sorry to read about your issue.

you should have done whats below, it may need to be done twice...last but not least..you have to put more fresh water in to remove the taste

The brewer should be de-scaled at least every 3-6 months. Scale is harmless, but if left unattended, it can hinder optimal brewer performance. De-scaling your brewer regularly helps maintain the heating element, removable water reservoir and other parts of the brewer that come in contact with water. Better water quality and water heating means a better cup of coffee, tea, hot cocoa or iced beverage. We recommend de-scaling your brewer at least every 6 months (every 3 months if your water has a high mineral content). The de-scaling process involves using 48 ounces of undiluted white vinegar.

Take 48 oz of white vinegar. place in tank. pretend you are making coffee (Do No Use K Cup). let the water fill you mug. then empty that mug. Do it again until tank is empty. then let sit for 4 hours.
Then fill with fresh water to the top. let that tank of water run thru. towards the end taste the water.
If you taste vinegar..use more clean water, until the taste is ok.

Have cuisinart ss10 coffee maker I have descaled with 2 gallons of white vinegar and the descale light won’t go out. How do I get it cleaned ?

I recently had the problem of the dreaded "de-scale" message coming up on my coffee maker. After descaling my coffee maker 3 times, the "de-scale" message wouldn't go away. I called the Customer Service number and was told to unplug the coffee maker for an hour and that should re-set the machine. I did that and still the de-scale message remained. Another phone call and another customer service representative and I was told to hold down the Hot Water and Rinse buttons together. I placed a large mug and hit the buttons. There was a good bit of water that came through but IT WORKED! The coffee maker is as clean as can be and working very well. I suggested to the Customer Service Representative that Cuisinart should include this in the instruction and troubleshooting section. But I doubt that will happen. Sad that the web site info is not updated. Wanted to share my experience so it might help others frustrated by this issue.

How do I de scale my digital steam press?

Perhaps you lost the instruction manual for the device, but the process is quite easy. Just run a couple of cycles with white vinegar. The vinegar (acetic acid) will react with the scale and make it fall off. you may have to push something through the nozzel to get the scale out of it.

Coffee maker won't work. says it needs to be de-scaled.

De-scaling is normally done through the use of vinegar. I prefer the white vinegar myself. This is simple. Instead of water, place a quart of vinegar in your water tank and no coffee grounds in the basket. Start the cycle. When it is all done, repeat with ordinary clear water, again no grounds in the basket. When this cycle is completed. if yours is a integrated tank, turn the coffee maker up side down to remove all liquid. Refill and enjoy your freshly de-scaled coffee maker.

Presto - de-scaled.

I trust you will find this solution adequate. Thank you for your interest in FixYa.com

What does de-scale mean?

De-scaling refers to removing mineral deposits that build up over time. These minerals are found in regular tap water with higher concentrations in areas with hard water. Run a mixture of 1 cup white vinegar to 1 quart water through the machine followed by 2 or 3 cycles of clean water to clear any buildup. If the buildup is heavy you may need to use a cleaning product designed for cleaning coffee brewers.

The water comes out the top of the manuel filter so not all the hot water goes through the holder. the coffee is loosely put in the filter

Try running vinegar through the Keurig to clean and de-scale it. You should use white vinegar, run it through using several cups until there is no vinegar left, then use clean water to brew plain hot water until you can no longer smell vinegar. This will help de-scale the Keurig and potentially remove any plugged bits of coffee that may remain.

What does de-scale mean?

To de-scale anything in relation to water means to remove the mineral scale buildup on the walls or where ever. That's the usually white chalky stuff that you might see around nozzles etc. Follow yu manuals instructions to de-scale. Usually involving white vinegar, or possibly a product like CLR for removing minerals and rust stains. I AM NOT SAYING TO USE CLR IN YOUR MACHINE, just indicating an example of a product that manages mineral scale. Read the manual to do it correctly.

Foul-smelling coffee

you may need to run white vinegar thru the unit... and dont be in a rush to get the vinegar out of it... let the vinegar work...
If you suspect bacteria, then mild bleach water... and dont be bashful about the quantity... allways filter the water and consider using bleachwater to clean the needles that puncture the kcups....
