Remove the 2 grill wire cooking racks by lifting them out of the top of the grill, next lift out to remove the 3 heat deflector panels which exposes the 3 burner tubes. Remove the 4 screws located on the outside flanks (2 on each side) of the 5-knob control panel assembly - then gently slide the knob control assembly outward and away from the grill just about an inch or two. You can now remove the old burner tubes and replace them with the new units. Then simply slide the control assembly back into the grill frame and replace/tighten the 4 screws. Voila`

My burners would not stay lit either. Compare the old burners to the new. Good chance the variable opening is larger than the original. This adjusts the mixture (fuel vs air). Loosen the screw & close the gap. On mine I had to close it as much as possible. Reinstall.

If the burner is only paritially lit or the flame runs up and down the tube on high but is good on low, you need to close the mixture even further.

To save time just work on one burner until it is adjusted properly. Then set the others to the same gap size.

Have a home depot ducane 5 burner. just replaced burner tubes. have never used the rotisserie burner on it before. it lights but won't stay lite after releasing knob...any suggestions? Thanks

Infrared burners requite that the gas control knob be held in for 2 minutes or so, to allow the thermocouple on the infrared burner to heat up completely. If it's windy were you are, the wind can blow the burner out, while trying to light it. That's why it has a thermocouple on it, to stop the gas if the burner goes out. All cooking on the rotisserie is doon with the lid/hood closed, at temperatures around 250 degrees F. Once the infrared burner turns bright red, release the control knob.

Hope this helped you to get it lit. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

How to replace burners

Replacing the burners on any Ducane Gas Grill is not an easy task. As the control panel has to be dismantled to accomplish it. With that in mind, I have included a link to the Owner's Manual. The section Annual Maintenance starting on page 21, will be a big help to yo in removing the old burners and installing the new ones.

How do I remove the old burners to replace with new?

Should be as easy as removing the screws at the ends of the tubes and sliding the tubes away from you and putting the new ones in like you took out the old ones.

How do i go about replacing the middle burner on my Ducane bbq, model number 30400046? I have already ordered the part.

Remove the cooking grate so you will have unrestricted access, remove the flame tamer (it should be able to come up without effort) to expose the burner. At the back of the grill there is a screw that attaches the back part of the burner to the grill. Remove the screw, then grip the burner and pull it towards the back of the grill, this should release it from the gas valve in the front. To put the new burner in, just do all these steps in reverse...let me know if this works for you, if not I can walk you through it via chat.

Cannot light new burners

I just replaced my burners and I also cleaned the starters. Get a wire brush about the size of a tooth brush to clean the starter, the thing that makes the spark to start the flame.
