Jul 14, 2017 - I have the same issue. Almost new machine. Screen says "clear carriage jam", but there's no paper jammed in there. Can't do anything with the printer, since ...
The
Carriage Jam
error message displays on the control panel display. The print
carriage, which holds the ink cartridges, stalls against the left side
of the printer. A paper jam might have occurred previously.
HP Printer Error 0X610000F6 also known as Carriage Jam Error occurs very often in the Photosmart HP Printers. When a jam occurs in the printer due to paper scraps or due to any other reason, the printer stops working and it doesn't print any document.
If you already followed these instructions, the last thing to do is to service the printer. I don't know of any self-fix options for this printer. It's worth validating that you've already completed these steps as described.
If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Usually when the printer displays a carriage jam error the carriage assembly is jamming along the carrige path.
There may be something in the carriage path or the carriage shaft may need lubricating.
Check the area where the carriage is has stoped. There might be an obstruction visible.
