Error message after installing the driver and software, then installing the hardware, when I try to scan I get the error message that says Can not communicate with scanner. cable disconnected or power not on. this is a usb powered device, so the problem is one in the same. all other usb devices I have work, but they have external power supplies, and my digital camera downloads to the computer fine. Cannon Tech support could not help me. How about You

The ArcSoft PhotoImaging suite is just to process and scan images, but the printer hardware itself needs hardware drivers, which contain coded instructions to communicate with your CPU.
This is the HP scanning software.
Printer/Scanner hardware should have a driver setup disk that came with it.
If you have this disk:
shut down PC
unplug printer
boot PC
uninstall the current version, if in start>control panel>programs
restart PC
install driver from disk or downloaded driver file for your model.

It could be a communications error message, the printer is not communicating with the computer.

Disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable.

Restart the computer.

Remove and reinstall the printer software

If your printer does not function properly or communication error messages appear when using your printer, you can remove and reinstall the printer software.

1. Click Start®Programs or All Programs®Dell Printers®Dell Photo AIO Printer 962®Uninstall Dell Photo AIO Printer 962.
   
   
2. Follow the instructions on the computer screen to remove the printer software.
   
   
3. Restart your computer before installing the software again.

You should have uninstalled all the old Logitech before installing the new.
If you want the logitech toolbar on your desktop you are given that option during the Installer run

If the program is installed correctly - try this
Search for the Logitech file in 'All Programs'
Click on the Logitech text to expand the file
You should now see a webcam icon with 'Logitech Software' alongside
Right click on that file and select 'Send to - Desktop create shortcut'

you may need to change the com port that the printer is using, it may be in conflict with some other hardware. Go to device manager and click on printer and right click go to properties and see what com port it is on., check other hardware and make sure nothing else is running on the same com port.
You may also try re-installling the software.

Hi,

Im very sure that you encountered that message when trying to scaning using the HP Director / HP solution center. Here are the steps that i want you to do inorder to solve the issue.

1. Insert the CD that you used to install the Software.
2. The Window for installation will pop-up, CLICK ON UNINSTALL. (note: make sure that you unplug the usb cable from the back of your computer before uninstalling the SOftware).
3. When done, restart your computer.
4. Re-insert the CD and Click on INSTALL.

The reason why you encounter such problem might have something to do with the corrupted components of the Software installed in your pc.
