Connect the yellow RCA jack, which is actually called composite video, not component, to the DVD. If it's component, it's the wrong jack and you'll need the additional 4 cables to satisfy a component connection for HDTV.

How do i connect my sony dvp-sr210p cd/dvd player to t.v.

you can use an RCA connector .just hooked up the rca cable in the video and audio port ( output ) of the dvd player and then the other end of the rca cable to the component input of the tv unit. then set the tv unit to the right input like AV1, AV2 or AV3. depending on the input that you have been plugged in the tv component input port.

Hi there, I am getting some problem in connecting my DVD player to LCD TV on AV2 port. If I connect the same to AV1 port,it works fine but that port is already in use for my set top box so if I want to...

I expect if you look at the menu you will find that AV2 is set up as S-Video or Component etc. etc. Set it up as composite or RGB. The same as AV1.

No colour

Hi, Definitely a TV issue for me. Changed Wii to another input on TV and resolved situation. Need now to check how to get my TV to recognize colour on AV2 & 3 because I prefer to keep DVD input as AV1!

I had to use the (RCA) video inputs and not the component inputs. These are the ones made for video games. If you want to use the component input (Component cables are Red,White Red, Green, Blue). If you don't have any, you should be able to purchase them at your local electronics store like Radio Shack or Best Buy. Hope this helps, read below:

TV (This is your cable connection or TV; coax)
Component 1 (Must use component cables for this input/output; Red and White for audio, Red, Blue, Green for Video)
Component 2 (Must use component cables for this input/output; Red and White for audio, Red, Blue, Green for Video)
HDMI 1 (HDMI Cable)
HDMI 2 (HDMI Cable)
Video 1 (Must Use RCA cables, or RCA jacks; Red and White for Audio, Yellow for Video)
Video 2 (Must Use RCA cables, or RCA jacks; Red and White for Audio, Yellow for Video)

Sample of Component Cables:

We drop the tv apex 27" gt2715 model and looked in the back of it and a plug that is red and white is a lose but we have know idea where it goes

Do you have DVD player attach to the TV?The RED and WHITE RCA plug are for RIGHT and LEFT sound channels, they must be from the DVD player, inthat case, you should also look for YELLOW RCA jack which should connected to the VIDEO/AV1, or VIDEO/AV2. The RED and WHITE RCA should be plugged into the VIDEO/AV1, or VIDEO/AV2 AUDIO INPUTS.
Please tell us more what kind of setup that you have.
Please read the owner manual.

DVD is hook up and no picture on the TV.

You have to make sure that the RCA cables are properly connected to the TV. Check the TV/Mode if it's set to AV1 (Audio/Video1) or AV2. You may check the TV remote to set it to AV1 or AV2.

From the DVD, the cable should be connected to OUT. And on the TV...video and audio should be connected to IN.

I am trying to connect an akai dvd player to directv, please help

ruettab,

good day. to connect your any DVD player to any TV screen always remember this color code

from DVD back part:

yellow = video out

red/blue/green( in a row) = component video out ( this can only be used for screen with component video inputs)

Black = digital audio ( rarely use unless)
Red and white (in a row) = Audio output (left and right audio)

where to connect from TV screen.

Locate where A/V INPUTS (audio/video socket) from your TV screen, you can see it either at the BACK/SIDE or somtimes in FRONT of TV screen , having marked as "AV1"AV2"AV3' .

Once you found TV input, you must first have RCA cable (color code cable to connect player to screen) then connect the RCA cable at the back of your DVD player, simply follow color code

RCA yellow marked cable = DVD yellow socket
RCA RED and WHITE marked cable = DVD RED and white socket (second row for your player)

then connect the other end of the RCA cable to TV screen, first select which input where you gonna place the DVD player ( either AV1, Av2 or Av3 if do have multiple inputs)

once decided which INPUT to connect the player.
ex. if you select AV1 as input there would be 3socket on its row (yellow/red/white)

now connect the other end of RCA cable to the screen by following the same color code:

RCA yellow cable = TV screen A/V1 input yellow socket
RCA RED and White = TV screen A/V1 input red and white socket.

cheers,
mark

Have a Sanyo DP42828(42"). My Satellite is working after the card resetting itself. But which 3 holes do I hook the (RED, YELLOW, and WHITE) for the dvd player?

dems,

Are you reffering to your DVD player to be conected to with your TV screen?

For DVD player connection the 3 colored RCA jack socket are:

YELLOW = video out
RED and WHITE = Audio out (left and right channels)

to hook up to your screen, at the back of the screen or side of it you'll see RCA socket indicating "AV1" "AV2" AV3" this are all Audio/video inputs where you can hook up all you A/V device or game consoles. These inputs also have the same 3 colored socket (yello = video red/white = audio)
connect your DVD player to any of this input following the same color code. After connecting the cable, select the input where you hook up your dvd player. Do this by pressing "A/V" buttons in remote commander of your TV. continously press this button until it reaches the exact location where you plug your player ex. AV1, AV2,AV3

note: in some cases the remote commander doesn't indicate this A/V button but a picture of a box having a arrow pointing inside the box.

cheers,
mark

Hooking up dvd

Brad, AV-1 INPUT, be advised this will use up the AV1 port so if you have another item that uses regular AV cables you`ll then have to use AV2 for the video in and L&R audio in, enjoy, BMW Rider

Wii gone black and white, no colour

I bought a wii a few days ago and like everybody else mine too was in black and white with a grainy picture. I have a Panasonic lcd flat screen and thought I had connected it corrected, I got somebody out to have a look at it and found out there are some connections on the side of the TV which I hadn't even noticed before, once I put the red white and yellow leads in these and set the TV to AV3 everything is in perfect colour. Hope this works for some of you.
