Check your connection from the router to your broadband modem.
If you just bought the router, unplug the power cable to the modem for 15 to 20 minutes in order to clear its NVRAM of the last MAC address that was connected to it.
After the 15 to 20 minutes, plug the modem back in and see if your router then gets a proper IP address.

How do I access internet..desktop trough laptop

You need to share them into a homegroup together.
Or are you using a crossover cable? U cant just use notmal cat5 cables to connect a computer to a computer.
Although, why on earth are you trying to access the internet through another computer?
The whole idea sounds disasterous.
Maybe get a wifi card for desktop if its a distance issue.

Want to use belkin n150 as wireless access point to ps3 and have no internet

Are you saying you are trying to setup a wireless connection, even though you don't have internet? Impossible!

Normal setup - Connect the ISP modem to main uplink port on router. Then connect pc to any other port. Done!

Now connect PS3 as normal. Look for the Belkin network SSID and Key. There is a small piece of paper underneath the router with default ID and password key. It is also noted on Web Admin page. You can always use the reset to clear any custom settings.

Access point option is only for unsecured connection. Do not use.

Unidentfied network is connected, no internet access, i see a chair between the internet acces and the laptop. tried to reboot everything several times, turned off firewalls, nothing helps/

That unidentified network, have you connected to that before and browsed the internet? Just because you connect to a network, doesn't mean that network is setup to allow internet access. It could be a simple fact that you need to connect to a different network.

I have an Acer Aspire 5315 laptop and I can't get on the internet. It shows an internet connection but won't connect. I restored the computer to the factory settings and lost everything. Still can't get...

Open the internet explorer
Click on Tools tab on upper right side corner
Then click on Internet Options
Then click on Connections tab
Then click on LAN Settings
Make sure nothing is checked over there.
Then click OK OK and then try to go online.

I instaleld defender pro 5 in 1 and i cannot access internet through Internet explorer, google or firefox

There vare two things you can try right off the bat. First, open explorer and on the right side click on the drop down menu "Tools". scroll to the bottom and choose internet options. Then click on the "Connections" tab. At the bottom click on LAN settings. Make sure everything there is UNCHECKED. If all is normal there, then open the device manager and scroll down to the network devices and try uninstalling them. Once they are uninstalled, reboot the machine and let windows recognize them and reinstall the drivers for them to get fresh settings.

I am trying to connect a new laptop to my home network. The wireless connection indicates that it is connected to the internet, but i canno get to the internet. I have statically assigned an IP like...

Internet explorer... Under the address bar you should see "file, view edit, favorites, tools and help" click on tools, internet options and go to the connections tab. make sure you have nothing in the white box then click on LAN settings. I bet you have "proxy settings" checked. None of the boxes should be checked.

Won't connect to internet, says local access only, internet provider says everything is alright on their end, need to talk to acer. Been working fine and just quit.

Disconnect your modem/router for 5min then try agian.

If this don't fix it, try locating other wifi (your using wifi right?) hotspots. If you can connect then its your settings on your notebook (since you said its not your ISP.

Delete your internet connection and manually redo it. It could just be some internet settings that were changed.

Need more info on what interenet type your using.

have you checked your yahoo account whether it opens in some other internet connection or in a public cyber cafe.if the problem still persists in other net connections also then its a server problem, you have nothing to do with it. but if the problem comes only in your computer then check the internet settings of your browser and set it to default.
