Hello & Welcome to FixYa
The light is on as the unit won't drain or is unable to drain due to blockage in the drain hose. This problem usually occurs due to clogged/blocked drain hose or the drain pump not working. First try to clean the drain hose and drain pump filter for any clogs, then check drain pump operation. If the problem returns after cleaning then it is the drain pump that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

How do I get to the pump to clean it on my Kenmore he5 washer

Remove the bottom panel in the front or toe kick area. It's 2 or 3 small screws and lifts up. You may have to tilt the machine back to remove it. The pump and strainer are accessible there. The strainer cap screws off, put a catch tray under it because up to quart of water can drain there. Clean the strainer of debris before replacing pump.

Hi, Ive just come home and found my Hotpoint WML720 WASHING MACHINE still full of water with all the lights flashing. It would not pump out and eventually I managed to empty it by continually using the...

That sounds like the drain pump is clogged with large ball of lint or strainer is clogged. The drain pump is in the lowest part of washer machine and more than likely behind that bottom panel. I'm in US and don't have access to parts breakdown so I can't say 100%. But, if you can locate pump, the screen would be attached or you might have to remove hoses to get debris out. Good Luck

My shower (fiberglass) drain is leaking and needs to be replaced. I can pop off the drain cover to reveal a pvc collar that is glued down and unmoveable. I have ripped the ceiling open underneath the...

There are a few different drain styles available. If you pop the drain cover off of the shower, does it look like a brass ring pressed up against a rubber boot? If this is the case, that brass ring will have to unscrew first. if this is not the case, There will be a large nut on the underside of your shower that holds the drain in place. Often times, a helper is very beneficial to hold the top part of the drain assembly in place while the other person unscrews the bottom portion. You may say a few choice words during the process, as sometimes an older drain becomes hard to unscrew. There is a special tool for removing the drain, and it is relatively inexpensive. If the pvc is glued into the drain, a section of pipe will have to be cut away to get the tool around the strainer nut. Plan on replacing the trap and strainer. If it is pvc, you will need a coupling, trap, plumbers putty to go around the strainer where it meets the base of the shower, a new strainer, and possibly a couple street 45's and a couple of 45's. Don't forget the glue, primer, and a short piece of pipe.

The drain pump of my whirlpool duet washer makes a ticking noise

Hi, Remove your strainer cover, located in the kick panel at the front, and use a mirror and flashlight to see up into the pump cavity. It sounds like there is enough debris in the strainer and pump to explain your problem. Remove any foreign material you find.

THE CODE LD IS SHOWING UP AND WASHER IS NOT OPERATING

Press stop, cancel twice to reset. The Ld error is when it takes longer than 5 minutes for the washer to drain and reset the sensor. You probably have a partially plugged strainer or drain line. To check the strainer, remove the kick panel at the front bottom of the machine. The strainer is ibetween the drum and the pump, being connected to the drum with a rubber hose. Open the strainer (caution, water!), and clean. If you did not find much in the strainer, clean the drain hose. Dump the contents of the drain hose into a bucket. If possible, run an empty losd with dth drain line pointed outside.
This should fix your issue!

Bosch SHU43CO2UC/22 will not drain

I had the same problem on Christmas Eve. It turned out that the impeller blade was blocked by a grain of uncooked rice which had found its way through the filters in the bottom of the dishwasher.

The impeller pumps the water out of the machine and is separate to the pump which sends water out of the spray arms.

If you have the user manual for the dishwasher, you will find instructions and a diagram of the parts in the troubleshooting section, but it is fairly straightforward.

To get to the impeller, remove the food filter from the bottom of the dishwasher (it simply lifts out) and then you will be able to lift out the metal filter grid and pull it out towards the front.

This will expose the plastic outlet where the impeller is housed. To reach the impeller, undo the cover which is held on with 2 torx screws, and you will be able to see the impeller blades. Try turning the blades, they should move without any resistance. If they are stuck, try using tweezers to find and remove the obstruction so that the blades move freely (there will be some slight resistance from the magnets around the impeller, but the blades should move easily).

That solved my problem, and I was able to spend Christmas Day without washing up by hand! I hope that it works for you.

Inlet/drain light remains on

I have the same problem on a Miele G647 SC Plus. It starts and completes the wash cycle, might skip a final rinse - not sure, but it drains the water. Pump then continues to run for extended period then inlet/outlet light comes on. The dishwasher never moves to the drying cycle.

I cleaned all filters, checked supply/drain hoses + the non return valve. All seemed servicable. But no real improvement in fault.

Any way I can fix this?

Having problems draining a gsd580k-01 GE dishwasher I checked the input to the disposal and cleared that and still water does not drain

hello Let me be simple. 1) ) Remove the cover from the air gap at the top of the sink (usually a short chrome domed cylinder that sits at the back of the sink), and, using a wire, clean it. Also check the entire length of the drain hose for kinks and blockages, especially at the drain connection to the disposer or drain line.2) Once the dishwasher is cool, shut off the power to it, and—if your dishwasher is made to allow this—remove the strainer, located under the bottom spray arm at the base of the cabinet (see illustration). Unscrew the hubcap, lift the spray arm off, and remove any clips that hold the strainer to get it out. Scrub it clean with a brush, and then replace it.
and see what happens.. if the problem prevails do see a local expert..
