Tip & How-To about Office Equipment & Supplies

Sharp AL2020 AL2040 AL2060 AL2080 H4 H-4 code reset procedure

In most cases the flashing H4 or H then 4 code on these machines is caused by voltage fluctuations or surges. Normally there is nothing wrong with the machine and the code is easily reset. Here is the procedure:
Press the following key's in sequence and as quickly as possible (with 4 seconds for the first 4 keys)
Press "C" then the "Auto" key (exposure mode) then the "C" key then the "Auto" key again.
So in other words C, Auto, C, Auto
If done correctly the display should go blank.
Then key in 14 as if you were going to make 14 copies.
Now press the "print" button
The machine should automatically shut down and restart with the H4 code being gone.
If the H4 code comes back after reset then in this case you have a fusing unit problem and will need to have the unit serviced.
Works on Sharp AL series 2020 2040 2060 and 2080
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

2005 chevy equinox. The needle on the temp gauge is normally steady but from time to time swings back and forth from hot to cold and then normal, it also shows a code of p1245. What could be wrong??

The code P1245 is for the Intake Plenum Switchover Valve.

This probably has nothing to do with the gauge fluctuations. The gauge problem is probably one of three possibilities:

  1. Low coolant level in the system. When coolant levels get low, air moves thru the system and when it reaches the temp sensor, will cause fluctuations.
  2. Defective coolant sensor. These can fail over time as do all sensors.
  3. Defective gauge in the dashboard.

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Impala LS 3.8 and it starts and idles fine in park but while driving the rpms aren't where they normally are and fluctuate a lot sometime causing the car to surge or jerk.

Possible ignition misfire causing this problem. Is the check engine light on/flashing? If so, have the codes scanned to help, isolate the problem. Even without the check engine light on, the computer will sometimes store a code that can be helpful in diagnosing this issue

no power at all battery reading over 100 volts and fluctuating.

Nothing, you are obviously doing something wrong. They call it a 12v battery for a reason.

Hi,

Surge protector, minimizes voltage spikes or burst that could damage your electronics. You may not see it doing anything but it does. It clips those voltages to the right rating befrore letting them in to your system.

I hope this helps.
