I'm trying to video chat with my friends on oovoo, but it will not connect. Every time that we try to start a convo. it starts to connect, and then says 'connection failed'! My internet is connected fine. Plain text chat works, but video refuses to connect. We've been trying for quite a while this evening. It's kind of rediculous. This is totally lame. Please help.

hey budy me aso treated this sort of problem in recents with some of mine clients..buddy this is a virus attack which is common now a days...mccaffe update of july season is helpful to iradicate that one for sure..n please remove the zone alarm n go for it.it will work for u.

unenstall and reinatall. If that dosent help then shoot it andget a new one.lol I have had the same problem before. Uninstall and do a compleet maintence. Disk Clean, Defrag, Disk Errors..ect and them reenstall yahoo messanger. you can also got to yahoo and donload the latest messanger and update your exsisting one. The 3004 means that your might be out of date and need to update. If you have had this computer sence 2004 or earler you might just be out of date...Good luck.. And if this dosent work i have a Rifle you can barrow.

ok, well give this a shot then. But is it possible that the other computer is connected to a network called Belkin?

It is also possible that MAC address filtering is turned on on the router so it will not let your computer connect. if it is, you will have to add your mac address (00-1A-73-DE-12-D5) to the approved list of MACs.

Anyway, you can try manually setting your IP address.
and see if that gets you on. If it doesn't, and MAC address control isn't the problem, then either you have a driver problem or your laptop and wireless router hate each other desparately.

  1. Click Start and click Control Panel.
  2. Select Network and Internet, then Network and Sharing Center, and click Manage network connections from the list of tasks.
  3. Right click your local area connection and click Properties.
  4. Select ipv4 Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the list and click the Properties button.
  5. Select Use the following IP address.
IP address - 192.168.2.199
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.2.1
DNS Server - 192.168.2.1

This will force you computer to get network settings that match the netowrk. But beware, this will affect you if you try to go another network. You will then have to switch back to automatic configuration. but if you set up these settings and still can't get on, there is something wrong with the driver configuration. But make sure that there isn't another network called belkin.

If the manual configuration doesn't work, try updating the wireless driver from the manufacturer's website. Also try connecting to a wireless hotspot somewhere else and see if it is a computer problem or a problem with this specific wireless network.

To solve this kind of network connection in your yahoo messenger, just click on your yahoo messenger, select the connection preferences in the menu and then select the proxy server as the connection preference other than the internet one. then select from either the dial-up, broadband or the high speed t1 lan connection. it's up to you how you connect.

Oovoo is a free video chat and video conferencing, So you need is broadband internet access and a computer with a webcam and microphone (a headset works great if you have one). So you get this error message.

Based on the information you have provided, it seems that the issue might be with the Webcam Driver.

Before performing any troubleshooting steps, please try using the Webcam with any other Messenger Applications such as Skype, Yahoo etc.,

By doing this, we can confirm if the issue is regarding to the Webcam Driver.

If the Webcam is not working with any other Messenger Application, then the issue might be with the Webcam Driver.

Is there a way to chat with more than one person at a time on cam? My logitech webcam only lets me do one at a time. I can't find any settings nor can I find anything online about others having the same...

Try ooVoo and you can talk to at least 5 or more people at the same time.

and paste it in your ADDRESS BAR and then hit ENTER. Download and install the program and have your friends do like wise.
Then setup the Audio & Video so you can communicate with the others.
Normal 0 After signing in to ooVoo Click on FILE, then SETTINGS. Next Click on CAMERA and after TESTING it , go to MICROPHONE and select it then TEST it. Then go to SPEAKER select it and TEST it. Then Save and it should work.

Ohk , here's the problem , my speaker is working p...

I am sorry but by the sound of it the problem is not with you but is with his system have him post his system information and the setup he is using for the video chat and we will get an answer to him as soon as possible.

Why can't i log on ooVoo anymore? everytime i try to log on ooVoo and i try a test connection and it always fails. I also can't go to the website ooVoo.com. It says "Sorry, we can't find...

The first is correct... the second is incorrect. This should solve your dilemma with not being able to get to the website.
For the other problem. Try deleting the software then reinstalling it. If it still doesn't work, disable your firewall program because it is probably blocking the connection.

Every time i go to oovoo it keep getting this error Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error.

DON'T USE GOOGLE CHROME ITS FULL OF TROJANS!!! WINDOWS DEFENDER ON MY MACHINE DETECTED IT!!!! TRY FIREFOX!!!! HOPE HELPS :D
