I childs Tv Will not show color when it is hooked up to my DVD player, I have hooked to Dvd players to it and it will not work, on 1 dvd player it not do any thing at all on the other it will be only black and white
On the remote look for a button marked 'system' or 'sys' using that button try to take the color system on your DVD channel to be on BG. If that's not possible get into the menu for the telly and search for 'color system' and get it to be on BG.

First of all, thank you for posting your question here at Fixya.com.
The most common caused of "No color" fault when viewing movies through DVD player are : 1. Wrong TV/DVD format - If your TV is a NTSC system format and not knowingly your DVD player is set to PAL/Secam system format, then there's no color generated to your TV due to incorrect video frequency signal coming from the DVD player. Solution : You have to sync/match the system format of the TV and DVD player. Check first the system format of the DVD player through the menu. Try to change it from PAL/Secam to NTSC. 2. Wrong hooked up - Since the problem is in video, you have to check the video hooked to your TV and DVD player. HDMI jack is the best option to avoid wrong hooked up because it come with Audio and Video in just one cable. If you are using one RCA cable to connect the video, make sure that it is hooked up to Video in of the TV and Video out of the DVD player, it is usually color yellow RCA jack. If you are using the component video hooked up, you must have 3 RCA cable for video alone. It is color coded as green(Y), blue(Pb/Cb), and red(Pr/Cr) RCA jack.
My advice is to check first the system format and then the video hooked up.
Hope I helped you. Have a nice day! Good luck and take care!
no, s video is not required to work. if you hooked up 3 colors to the tv 3 colors. make sure it's on video 1 or aux channel. and as long the dvd player is on and that channel is on, if that does not work, try on another tv that has same connection. if that doesn't work, then we know that dvd player doesn't work.
These DVD players are garbage. I bought one for my daughter and we've had nothing but problems with it. We finally hooked up another DVD player for her because I got tired of trying to make the dumb thing work. I haven't heard of anyone that's been happy with one of these players. Disney should refund everyone who has bought one of these there money back!
Hi, Please hook your dvd player and tv as follows... Find Yellow color pin as Video Out, Red and White pins for Audio Out (right and left channels) and same goes to rear input-1 or input-2 what ever is available in your TV. watch out color of pins, same color in both units should be hooked up. Now play dvd player and select input in tv and enjoy. Still needs help, please mention model and brand of DVD Player and TV to guide you in better way.
On front of television is the video, left and right audio plug ins. This is where you will plug the adapters from your dvd player. They are color coded for easy installation.
Step2Make sure the adapter is also plugged in to back of dvd player.
Step3Plug dvd player into power source and turn on.
Step4On the front of television there is a tv/av button. Press this button twice or until it says video 2 in upper left hand corner of television.
Step5Insert movie into dvd player and enjoy. To get your tv back to cable press tv/av button once.
There some thing that you had done to get black and white on your tv with the dvd ,check your connections.if the connections are properly connected then the tv could be having a problem in the video input, have a tech look at it.
