I have a singer 2639 and I do not know how to raise the feed dogs. Please help.

The feed dogs on the 7033 shouldn't drop down. This model uses a cover over the feed dogs when doing free-motion sewing. To remove the cover, raise the needle and presser foot. Open the slide plate over the bobbin by sliding it towards you. Lift up the front edge of the cover and pull it away. Close the slide plate and lower the presser foot.

I hope this helps. If the feed dogs are actually down and not covered, there is probably something broken in the sewing machine.

Typically, the feed dogs do not raise until the machine begins to stitch.

According to the manual below, your machine is not capable of raising and lowering the feed dogs. Instead, your machine came with a cover plate that slips over the feed dogs to allow darning and free motion quilting.

According to the manual, there is an accessory that covers the feed dogs. (Shown as an accessory on page 4.) So the feed dogs should not raise or lower other then during normal sewing action of moving the fabric.

I don't know this machine but in most machines the feed dogs are normally lowered from a switch beside the bobbin case behind the door of the bobbin case.

Slide of the the little table with the accessories in.There is a feed dog adjustment lever at the back of the machine. sliding the lever to the 2 filled in arrows pointing down, will lower them and the 2 filled in arrows pointing up will raise them. The feed dogs will not rise up if you do not turn the hand wheel manually, even if the lever is slid to the right.You must make a complete turn of the wheel to raise the feed dogs.

there should be a small set screw under the cover where you feed the bottom bobbin at. if you turn it right, it will tighten, and should raise it.just remember how many times you have turned the screw.

Here is a link to page 22 of the manual. It shows you where to flip the lever to raise the feed dogs. If your feed dogs are not grabbing fabric your feed dogs are lowered.
