The water inlet valve is an electrically-controlled valve that opens to allow water to enter the dishwasher. Depending on the model, the valve stays open either for a set length of time or until the dishwasher has enough water. However, if the water inlet valve doesn't shut off after the dishwasher has enough water, the dishwasher will overflow. If water drips into the dishwasher when the door is open, or if water collects at the bottom of the dishwasher while it is not use, you may need to replace the water inlet valve.
It sounds like you have a drain hose problem. The drain hose needs to have a rise in it. If it is going down hill or to a drain that is lower than the tub it can drain as fast as it fills.
there is a leak . when the unit stays in drain mode that means there is water at the bottom of the base. The float switch stays in drain mode untill the water is removed. you must take off the side panel to remove the water, let me know what happens.:)
there could be many solutions from not enough water in the dishwasher
to the piece on black backing in between the door and inner linning has warmed up and slide down restricting the soap door from opening
the lack of water could be from a defective water fill valve or a restriction in the drain line holdingf the drain valve open alowing water to escape
when the machine fills open the door see how much water is in it close the door wait 2 min open the door again if water went down the problem is arestrictioninthe drain valve (water should fill to touch the element in the bottom i hope this helps
Hi there....water not draining out is usually related to (a) a blocked drain pump...(b) blocked outlet hose.....(c) blocked drain outlet (under sink)...the tarmac smell is comming from the heat insulation at the rear of the dishwasher casing....you need to check that dishwasher is not overheating....

first thing to check for is your fine srtrainer remove it clean it verry well because lint stick inside the edge of the filter causing blockage of amount of water to be pumped out neck thing to check for is the amount of water that comes in to the machine start the machine listen for the first fill to complete open the door there shoud be aprox 1inc of water in the macine if not its possible that the drain valve have something stuck inside causin to loose water to see if its your drain vale when you have check the amount of wate reclose the door let the pump run for a min then reopen the door if you have less water check your drain valve or your check valve normally blue or white aprox 3"long inbetween two hoses thanks from gilles
Bosch dishwashers have a seperate pump for washing and another for draining. Try making it fill more than once. There is usually a timed fill and the float stops it before it overfills It also might prevent it from washing without enouth water Try defeating the door switch and play with the float during fill. There may be a sensor that won't let it go into wash. Be prepared to get a little wet if it should start up suddenly. A slightly safer way is to fill it with the sprayer from the sink. and see if it will go into wash.
