My DVD Player does not reject a DVD. It gets stuck.
When I go to eject a DVD the door starts to open, but it closes again. It often takes many tries or prying with my nail to get the door open. I am afraid a DVD will get stuck there.
Re: My DVD Player does not reject a DVD. It gets stuck.
I had been closing the door at the DVD slot manually. I found that if I closed the DVD door with the close button, and then opened it with the open button, it no longer got stuck.

First, try resetting your player. Unplug it from wall for at least 1 full minute, then plug it back in. If eject function (remote or top panel) still doesn't work:
MOST DVD players (including every one I have ever worked on or owned) have a tiny manual eject pinhole located close to the tray. You may have to gently open the flip door to see it. It is usually to the right of the disc slot, but could be underneath or elsewhere close by (use a flashlight, it can be hard to see). Carefully insert a straightened paper clip in the pinhole to eject the disc. (It shouldn't matter if machine is on, but for safety I usually do this with the machine OFF and unplugged).
If above fails, your only recourse is likely the disassembly of the machine (search "dvd disc stuck" on Google or YouTube), or taking your machine to a repair person. Best of luck to you.
Hi,
Very sorry for your loss. As always the first step is to make sure the player is connected to the wall outlet and turned on.
To put a disk in the DVD you should push the "Eject" button to open and close the tray it looks like a home(a triangle over a dash) on the front side of the box down left corner of the tray. You have the same button on the remote marked "Eject". Push either once, put the disk with the shiny side down on the tray and push the Eject button again to feed the tray back into the player. Usually the disk starts automatically and you will see a menu on the TV with alternatives like "Play the movie", "Setup", "Scenes",... you may highlight the "Play the movie" alternative, using "Up", "Down", "Left" and "Right" and then press the "OK" button. Or just push the "Play" button either on the box or the remote control. If you click "Here "you can download the manual in PDF form. To open it in your pc you'll need "Adobe Acrobat Reader" (or any other PDF reader) installed.
I will gladly answer your questions
Best Regards
Bruce
A disc may be stuck inside it, preventing it from opening. You may have to remove the housing on the unit and look inside the dvd area to see if there is something stuck.
It could also be broken or not getting power. Try unplugging it for a few minutes than trying it again, as well as holding down the eject button for a few seconds. Be patient after each button press, as the player is programmed to stop the disc and "park" the laser before ejecting.
Hope this helps!
elsombro is right. There is a little whitish plastic square on the right side of the player, part of the DVD assembly (after you take off the cover). It's about 1/4 inch square. With the unit turned on, push that square with a pen about 3/4 of an inch in or as far as it will go. There will be a clunking sound but that is the sound of the DVD being released back onto the tray. Now gently push the back of the tray forward, ejecting the disk manually. Take the disk out and then press the close button. If the door doesn't close, it's out too far so manually push it in about an inch or so and then press the close button again. Should be fine after that. I think my problem was a DVD I recorded on my computer and it has the wrong format or something. After I got it out I put a regular DVD back in and everything was fine.
Try unpluging unit, then plug back in and press open/eject.Also look for a tiny hole on front door used to insert paperclip end, push in this will open tray.
