Different models have different functions on their faces. Some are chronograph watches (stop watches) and some have alarm or GMT. It depends what model you have. The buttons (or pushers) have different functions depending on the model.

Hi Willow, well it depends on your watch model. Here is a site where you can find the instructions for a number of Maxum watches. Just look at the rear of your watch to find the model number and then copy the site address below and past into your browser and hit enter/return. Within the list that appear in this site find and click the model number of your watch for the instructions to appear. Good luck!

I would Google your watch model. Look for the model number on the watch back, then search for the user manual. I have to do this every time I need to change my Citizen EcoDrives for Daylight Savings, since the manual that came with the watch covers many models and it isn't clear which instructions are for MY models.

Don't be cheap!!!! Go to a reputable jeweler. Most of them are very clued up on these watches and they will give you the correct information. There are many types of batteries and sizes of batteries. There are also a variety of movements for battery watches. If the wrong battery is put or forced into the watch you can do damage to the watch and then will become more expensive to fix!!!

What is meant rather depends upon the manufacturer.

Many watches are listed by model name for a range but there may be individual types within the range which are referred to by a number.

In some cases the instructions are listed by number and not name.
