SOURCE: Hotpoint RVM1425BA-003 Microwave Oven Stovetop Light Does Not Work

The problem is almost certainly on the control panel, which we repair nationwide for $39.95 postpaid.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This often can affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inopoerable or stuck on.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and

disassembly information at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

SOURCE: My Hotpoint microwave oven just shut off while it

Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

Fuse keeps blowing in hotpoint microwave

The magnetron is the other issue, high voltage diode will sometimes crack causing a high level short, the capacitor developes a dead short across the 2 points, the power transformer almost never fails, "very rare"

A mains surge may have taken out the fuse. To find the fuse, remove it from the mains, remove the outer cover and follow where the power cable enters the case. There will be a PCBoard with a fuse on it.
Always replace the fuse with one of exactly the same type and value!

My Hotpoint microwave oven just shut off while it was being used. Now there is no power at all. Could it be a fuse? How do I replace it if it's the case?

I need to replace a fuse and would like to know how to replace it manually

Simply pull it out of the fuse holder, then install the new fuse.

My microwave turns on, the fan and light work, but it doesn't heat the food.

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the blower)))

Microwave just died

The Microwave should be on a different circuit than the fridge. If the fridge kicks on at the same time you have the microwave on high you can damage them with low voltage causing high amperage and blowing the fuse, try replacing the microwave fuse and try to run it off a circuit that the fridge is not on, New hoses have a dedicated plug for just the microwave oven, I own a 1.4 cubic foot oven and it had to have it's own plug due to the breaker size and wire size, it pulled to much power to be on that circuit. So change the fuse if that does not work and post here and will see what else to check, and please rate if this helps.
