SOURCE: Thermador Oven won't heat after running self-cleaning cycle

SOunds like you need to reset the oven high limit switch. It should be located behind the grille obave the oven opening and below the control panel. There should be about 4-6 screws you need to take out to remove the grille to gain access. Turn the power of to the oven at the circuit breaker, then rech in with a screwdriver and push down on the little red button in the center of the hig limit until it clicks. the high limit should be about as big around as a quarter and have a wire going into one side and out the other. If this keeps tripping, you may have a bad cooling fan. When you run a self clean it should also run a fan to cool the components. You should be able to feel a breeze coming out of the bottom of the oven when the cooling fan (not the convection fan ) is running. If this fan doesnt run, it will trip that switch. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: GE Wall Oven - No heat (broil or bake)

On appliances like this only the heating elements use 220 volts. things like the clock, fan, etc use 110 volts. That is why some things work and other do not. Start at the breaker, sometimes a double pole breaker will have 1 side tripped, but will look perfectly fine. switch the breaker all the way to off then re-set. If nothing changes follow the power to the appliance remove the panel and look for some fuses, check to see if any are blown. Also sometimes the microwave will have a separate power source even though its built in to the same appliance. So that's not always a good symptom to follow.

SOURCE: OLD GE Wall Oven doesn't heat properly

On these older ovens ther is usually always 120 volts on the elements at all times.
If you check across the element ends with it in bake you should read 240V. If not, there is a problem with the control. With the voltage drop you describe, it sounds like you are losing power on one line of voltage coming to the element.
Post back to let me know what you find out or if you have any questions.

This problem is caused by a faulty thermostat controller. This is the dial that you use to set the temperature for heating.

Replaced the baking element in my frigidaire oven but it still isnt working

Good Morning Karenand, thank you for your post!

I see that you have replaced the bake element in your Frigidaire range but it is still not working. If you wouldn't mind please providing me your model number, I can better address the issue at hand. The serial tag, which lists your model number, is typically located in the storage drawer, on the right side.

Meanwhile, I recommend resetting your range. This can be done by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position. It is important to wait roughly ten minutes and then turn your range on. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, your range could be experiencing other issues such as: a communication problem with the EOC (Electronic Oven Control), an open thermal fuse or a potential wiring failure.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your range status has changed successfully.

Best of luck!

Gas range oven heating slowlyJenn-Air Electric/Gas Range JDS9861AAP heats slowly

The problem beleive it or not is that the bake ignitor is weak ,and it is not drawing the proper amprage to open the gas valve. If you have a amp meter access the wires to the bake ignitor(usually behind the storage drawer) and check for 3.3-3.6 amps when oven is set to bake by clamping the meter around ONE wire wire of ignitor make sure only one wire, either one and not both.
if amp draw less than 3.3-3.6 amps replace bake ignitor. I know it seems improbable that if the ignotor comes on that it could be the problem.Professional appliance technicians who would charge a average of $250.00 to repair your oven, have found when the ignitor comes on yet the oven won't heat that a weak ignitor is the cause 100% of the time

I hope this helps

My oven is not heating up properly, it either doesn't heat up or it takes a very long time to heat up. The range top works fine and the broiler works, but when i set it to bake it doesn't or takes long.

There are two possibilities for problems with the range. If it has a "timed bake" setting for the oven then it's possible that the last person who used it neglected to return the setting to the manual mode. In "timed bake" mode, the oven will heat to approx. 160 - 185 degrees, what is called a "keep warm" temp. It will maintain that heat setting regardless of what you set the oven temp control to, as long as you're not in the time frame that it's set to bake. This will make trying to bake anything a very difficult procedure.
The second possibility is that the oven glo coil igniter is cracked and will not heat to the proper temp to allow the electricity to flow through it to the oven gas safety valve to allow it to open and let the gas flow to the burner. These things are ceramic and for some reason crack in normal use. If it has a top broiler, that unit is obviously good. Unfortunately, the igniters are seldom interchangeable. You would need a tech to check the igniter with an ohmmeter.

Whirlpool Self Cleaning Oven - Model RF360BXXW Serial # FA4005915 Turned oven on bake - bottom element is not heating however top element is. Tried to change setting to 'timed bake', 'broil' and 'clean'...

Your lower element may be burned out. Generally you can firmly grasp and pull it out. Take it to a repair shop and get a replacement unit. Then simply snap it back into the same outlet where you remove the first one. It sound as if you've tried everything else so it must be the unit that is bad.

Amana gas range bake burner does not heat

Pull the bottom of the oven off. You will see 2 to 4 screws that hold the panel on. The ignitor is under there. Look at the ignitor carefully for breaks. I say carefully as the ignitor is very easy to break.

Amana Convection oven not controlling temp

I have just checked the baking guide in the manual and have found that it may not be us after all. (Maybe this is why they telll us to read the whole manual. Well, I never have) According to the cooking time for Baking, the range is very extensive. For example, an angel cake at 350 could take from 28-50 minutes, buscuits at 375-400 could take 8-16 minutes, layer cakes at 350-375 could take 25-40 minutes, pound cakes at 325-350 could take 45-70 minutes and fresh pies at 400-450 could take 35-60 minutes. Basically, the baking directions on the box means absolutely nothing to use Amana oven owners. We have no choice but to cook our food or baked goods until they are cooked, whenever that may be. :) Linda
