Puting music on my ipod

I just got my ipod today 7-3-08 and on of the employees at a bestbuy told me that if i bought and iTunes gift card that i wouldn't have to put any of my personal information on the internet. well i have tried many time and many different ways (only ones i can think of) to put music on my ipod, but its just not working. So now i have an iPod with no clue of how to aquire music on it, pretty useless huh?

Hey lacie_brat,

In order to load music onto your iPod you will need to use the iTunes program. Unfortunately, in order to download the software and create an iTunes account, you may be required to provide Apple with some basic contact information.

Typically, the kind of information that is usually collected will be limited to your name and an e-mail address, but you may also be prompted to provide a valid mailing address or phone number. Please keep in mind that as with any fee-based service, this information may be collected to ensure that your account cannot be accessed or modified by an unauthorized third party.

If you have any questions as to why Apple would request your personal information, I would strongly suggest that you review their privacy policy FAQ through the link I've provided below.

http://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

My ipod touch is brand new. I can not get it to accept my itunes gift card

I suggest installing iTunes on a computer that you own, log-in with your Apple ID and then try to redeem the gift card.

If you don't already have an Apple ID, then this is probably the problem. You can create an Apple ID using iTunes.

You can download iTunes to your computer from this link (click here).

Follow the directions on the page to download and install iTunes to your computer.

Good Luck and let us know how this turns-out.

After you enter your numbers and letters then it will credit the amount of the card you redeemed to your account.
