Follow the steps below,

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuration".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.
Step 6: your PC will boot to the windows.

Acer 5315 will not start up windows

check the BIOS setup screen, when you get the ACER screen press F2 or F10 or the DEL or END or ESC key one of those will get you into the bIOS SETUP. Once there revise the boot order, make sure the CD is first to boot then HDD. Also review to see if the BIOS recosgnized the HDD. the symptom you are describing may be a bad HDD.

My aspire one linux edition powered off during D2D recovery!

Download Unetbootin on your windows machine and use it to load the recovery disk on to a usb drive. plug the usb into the AA1 and boot. While it's booting hit the f12 key this will bring up boot choices. Select the usb drive and away you go. And please remember to have it plugged in. Or ask around and borrow a portable CD-Rom. During boot you will see the screen ask you to select f12 to select a boot option.

Tried to update to DVDFab 5 and when my computer went to reboot, I get the Microsoft Corporation loading screen, and it won't get past there... (I let it "load" for about half an hour)

Restart the pc and keep Pressing the "F8" key while it is booting. You will get a menu , select "safe mode" from there and you will be able to boot the pc into safemode. Next It will take u to the desktop and ask if you want to restore your system to previous date, Click on "Yes". Next click on the date on which you upgraded dvdfab and click on next. Your pc will be again fine after restoration is complete and rebooted. Thanks

Wont restart my compuetr

if your computer has restore capabilites then you need to enter the bios and make sure that D2D recovery is enabled. Do this by pressing F2 on boot.

Then you need to press Alt and F10 not just F10 to enter the recovery console. But press it once the manufacturers screen appears such as tiny, gateway, Hp etc.....

If this does not work for you then make sure that CDrom is set as first priority in the bios boot options if you are attempting to Repair windows with the disk.

I hope this helps

D2d recovery

Is the d2d erecovery function enabled in the bios?

To check, activate the BIOS utility, press <F2> during the POST; while the notebook PC logo is being displayed.

To enable D2D recovery ard disk recovery), select Main from the categories listed at the top of the screen.

Find D2D Recovery at the bottom of the screen and use the <F5> and <F6> keys to set this value to Enabled.

That should allow you to use the F10 function key to activate D2D.
* Note: D2D e-recovery is not in Acer Empowering Management.
AEM is a power management utility that supports ACPI (advanced configuration and power interface) which allows for maximum power conservation and maximum performance. (Managed by the windows OS)
