I want to get the most performance out of my raadio i have a galaxy dx 33 i put an m-80 modulator in it is there anything els i can do to get more modulation and swing

Do you mean the FM Deviation or Detector Adjustment? I haven't found a schematic on the DX29HP yet but it may be the same as the DX33. NO GAURANTEE! The DX 33 has VR5 as the FM Deviation. You'll want to borrow or buy an FM Deviation Meter to adjust that. The FM Detector is L5. You'll need to Connect an AF VTVM or scope to IC2 Pin 7. In FM, Set FM RF Generator to 26.965 MHz (CB Channel 1) and at a level of .5uV deviated 3 KHz with 1KHz audio tone.
Reduce the volume as you need to. AGAIN!!! THE DX29HP MAY NOT BE ANYTHING LIKE THE DX33. If you are not sure, please pay someone to make the adjustments for you. It's a pretty nice little rig.

vr 14 is high vr 18 is low vr 16 is fine tune it. but there is a procedure to it so you will need the manual. go to www.cbtricks.com in the left column you will see radios , schematics , manuals.,click on it find g then click the go to galaxy dx and look at the list til you find dx-959 open it up and you will be in your glory. good luck.

4 watts on am and 12 on ssb the modulation pot isn't going to help you . go to www.cbtricks.com and get the service manual.

What are you needing can you explain more detail. And all the exports base radios are the same schematic as. Are the mobiles. The galaxy 33 and gal 99 are the same radio just the 33 doesn't have the ssb parts

gal 66 check the 10kHz switch. or you may have a bad cap, or crystal,.. the 33hp2 check the am regulator transistor... is bad or shorted.

The Galaxy DX33HML does not have backlighting. If you mean you have Nitro knobs that don't work, you should take it back to whoever installed them. There is no way to tell how they were wired.

Has it been turned up? a good radio shop should be able to max it out with out clipping anything and have full am modulation.. for $10 or less.. if they charge more they are not doing something legal. check around.

This is not a simple answer not knowing if it ever worked or not. I have a rfx75 installed on a DX 88 and it preforms flawlessly. If I were you I would find a reputable CB Shop and ask for their help.

Check the receive wire on the plug end of the mike, and the receive wire inside of the mike, just a starting point. ..hope this was helpful.....

If there is no transmit at all, it sounds like it wasn't fully refurbished. If it is just low modulation then just turn VR16 and VR14 all the way to the left.

If its not working at all, send it back. It hasn't been refurbished.
