Yes. you can try to insert the sd card to a computer using any all-in-1 memory card reader. then if windows detects it, right click the card's drive in windows explorer then select format. choose FAT as file system type. before you put it back to your camera clean the card's contact points, insert the card and if the camera detects the card format it again using the camera's format tool.

SD card won't stay in the slot of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-SL80

is the lock on the card by chance. also depending on how old the camera is and how big the sd card is in gb. the lumix may not be able to handle that size of card, too many gb. My lumix would only accept up to 4 gb, so when I moved to 16 they did not work.

The A402 works with MMC and SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible. You need to use cards 2GB and smaller.

What is the maximum SD size that will work with the DSC-4500Z camera?

The manufacturer of your camera specifies SD card compatibility without providing a specific number. This is not uncommon however, as the maximum size for SD cards is 2 GB. Cards that have a larger capacity than 2 GB in the "SD" format are "SDHC". Read the label of these cards (that have a larger capacity than 2 GB) that *look* identical to SD cards, and you'll see that they are in fact SDHC types. The SDHC card can have a capacity of up to 32 GB. A device that is compatible with the SDHC specification should be able to read any SDHC card *and* any SD card as well; because the standard requires "backward compatibility" to the older SD standard. A device that accepts SD cards should be able to read any SD card, *but* if an SDHC card be introduced to it, it may provide unreliable results (from being able to access only 2 GB of the capacity or not recognizing the card at all). Make sure your pictures are safe and don't get lost; use only SD cards in this camera.

I hope this helps!

We insert a memory chip into our Kodak EasyShare C190 camera. The read-out informs us that the memory card requires formatting. We click on "OK." The camera goes into a "formatting" mode, then informs us...

Your camera is only supporting SD/MMC Cards (up to 2 GB) and KODAK SDHC Cards (up to 8 GB).
The card that you currently have might be faulty. Please try another card.
You might also need to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.1: Menu, Cam settings, Chose AUTO or SD card option Press OK
Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.

Buy a 1GB card (or 2). The spec for the SD card format is going to 2GB but the Kodak C330 not compatible with 2 GB SD memory cards.
