Is ByteFence Anti Malware Safe?
What is ByteFence ?
ByteFence is a reliable anti-malware program designed and marketed by Byte Technologies. Many believe it to be a virus, but in reality, it is not.
The critical executable file of this product is called bytefence.exe which securely keeps running in "C:\Program Files" subfolder upon program's establishment. to know how to remove totel guide here https://articlesoffer.com/what-is-bytefence
Yes it is a rogue anti-spyware software that can be removed with the help of Malwarebytes Anti-malware.
First take a flash drive, or some other media like a CD, DVD, external drive, etc. over to an uninfected computer with an internet connection. Now download Malwarebytes
http://www.malwarebytes.org/ (the free version)
on to your flash drive or other media.
Next, install malwarebytes on the UNINFECTED computer because we want to make sure that when you install malwarebytes on the infected computer, that it is as up-to-date as possible.
Now that the program is installed, open it and navigate to the Update tab and click on Download Updates. Ok now close the program. Now navigate to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
If the computer is using Vista or 7, navigate to
C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
Now you may be unable to navigate to rules.ref if you have view hidden folders and files unchecked. To fix that in WinXP or 2000 click on My Computer, at the top of the window click on Tools, select Folder Options, select the View tab, scroll down to Show hidden files and folders and select it. -----Win 7 or Vista click on Start orb, go to Control Panel select Folder options, View tab, and select show hidden files and folders.
Ok, now copy rules.ref onto your flash drive because rules.ref is the virus definitions database for malwarebytes and this database that you are copying is more up to date than the one that will be created when you install malwarebytes on the infected computer.
Now take your flash drive, with malwarebytes and rules.ref saved on it, over to the infected computer. Now on the infected computer before you install malwarebytes you need to download a program that will kill the processes of antimalware doctor long enough for you to install malwarebytes without issue.
Go here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill click on the download liink that says iExplorer.exe download link (it's named that way so malware and viruses won't think it's a threat). When asked to save it, save it to your desktop. Once downloaded, double click on it's icon and run the program. If you receive any security warning from antimalware doctor about Rkill being a threat, do NOT click on them to close them or move them, just let them sit there while Rkill runs.
When Rkill finishes it's scan, do NOT restart your computer.
When Rkill finishes running, install malwarebytes from your flash drive. Once it is fully installed, you will now have to update it by navigating to the folder where rules.ref was installed. Once you get to that folder, copy the rules.ref from your flash drive into that folder and you will overwrite the rules.ref with your updated version.
Now close every window you can.
Open Malwarebytes and Perform A Full Scan with Malwarebytes.
At the end, tell it to remove all selected and make sure all of the stuff it finds IS selected. It will have to restart, let it do that and now your computer should be ok.
