Shark S3501 model mop heats up but no steam or steaming sound

you might try a teaspoon of vinegar in the water. It may have a small plug from hard water.

S3501 manual

Tap water will work fine, however, if your water is known to have a high calcium or lime content, that will, over time, build up in the tank and nozzle areas of the unit. Distilled water will eliminate that problem if you use it exclusively.

Shark s3501 plugged

I had same problem with no steam... ready to throw in the dumpster!
I tried to it take apart. (kind of hard) still ready to throw it!
Then I thought about CLR!
I put about 1/2 cup in, turned on and let set for about 20 to 30 minutes.
I really did not think this would work but... Amazing! I actually got STEAM!!!!!!
Next I dumped out what was left, put in distilled water and ran for another 30 minutes on high.
Will use CLR again before final clean out and 2 full tanks of distilled water before I use again.

Shark steam mop s3501 no steam

On these steam mops you have to use distilled water, if you use tap water and do not have

a water softner, the feeder tubes that pull the water to create steam will be reduced in size

and clog up. the only other option is to take it apart, and replace the hoses, i used some

small fuel line with spring clamps that i bought at an auto supply, it works! good luck!
