The Nokia kit has locked up, you will need to remove power from the kit for a few minutes to allow it to reset. If you do not know where the fuse or control box is you can try disconnecting battery on car but check with your vehicle manufacturer as some cars are sensitive.

I have a Boss BV6656B and I can't get my Bluetooth to connect, the SRC only displays Radio and AUX?

Page 9 of the manual says it goes into Bluetooth Search when you power it on, so get your phone searching and then power the radio on. Pretty much every Bluetooth unit I have come across needs a button pressed to send out the signal.

I don't like this mention of a 'Hands Free Kit' or that is says 'pairs to *most* mobile phones'.

Bluetooth Features:
Built-in Bluetooth technology for hands-free talking and audio streaming
Bluetooth Profiles Supported:
HFP: Hands Free Profile allows a hands-free car kit to connect to a compatible mobile phone
A2DP: Advanced Audio Distribution Profile allows high quality audio to be streamed from an audio device to the car stereo
Works with most Bluetooth enabled cell phones
Includes a built-in microphone for clear, convenient, distortion-free talking

How does the mute function work on the Kenwood KDC-5043U. Where do I connect the brown mute wire? I have a Samsung Galaxy S5

If you were installing a separate hands-free phone kit along with the Kenwood head unit, you'd connect the Kenwood mute wire to the muting output on the hands-free kit. This allows the other device to mute the audio from your radio while you're using the phone. If you don't have a hands-free kit, you wouldn't connect the Kenwood's mute wire to anything at all.

Brown mute wire for new ken wood in 2002 rodeo, does it go with illumination wire, green/red or red/green?

Hi, i'll need a bit more info to be able to give you an opinion , am i correct in assuming the "new kenwood " is a radio/cd player ? If so do you have a car phone or a hands free kit for your mobile/cell phone ? Assuming the kenwood is a radio the mute wire has to be connected to the car phone/mobile hands free kit , this is usually described in the phone installation directions , how the mute system works is when you recieve a call the signal is sent via the phone system to the radio , which is where the mute wire comes into use .If you have either of the phone set ups i've described post back with there details , make , model etc ,if you do not have this type of system and are using an ear piece then the mute funtion can't be used , i hope this is of some help to you

My mercedes e class 54 reg had power down my stereo I change the fuse power came back but it shows mute mode does not give any sound when my engineer put on his computer its works then mute again

Hands free mute is caused by a switch grounding the radio , if you have a hands free kit it is permanently grounding causing MUTE , if it's a short to ground check wiring loom in car always test loom with a multimeter

My Parrot display says "Goodbye" and I cannot pair

This kit has frozen and will need to be reset by unplugging the main blue box for a few minutes, this should rectify the fault. If this does not work you will have to upgrade the software on the Parrot.

Nokia CK-7W car kit won't stay switched off when ignition is off!

Main control box could be anywhere behind the dash, try under the glovebox or under the radio. If you have a mute harness to make the sound come through the speakers, this could also be the problem as is sound like you have 12v constantly on the blue wire.

Bluetooth wiring diagram

you will need to search for a wiring diagram for your model of car radio

car kit blue - connect to ignition cable OR connects to switched 12v cable going to radio
car kit red - Direct to +terminal of battery OR to constant 12v cable going to radio
car kit black - connects to GROUND going to radio
car kit yellow - connects to mute function of radio if your radio supports it.

OR
connect blue and red together and directly to battery
and connect black to Body of vehicle
(not recommended as could result in draining of battery, even thought the kit is supposed to prevent this).

CK-7w mutes stereo

if cutting the power to the kit dont work try removing the radio and removing the yellow wire from the back for the radio (the one coming from the junction box of the kit). that should get the radio/cd working properly. inspect the wire and make sure its not earthing anywhere behind the dash. radio isnt realy that easy to take out if you dont know what your doing.
