Im trying to hook up my 2 memphis audio 12s and power acustic 1200 watt amp to my stock head unit i have purchased 2 line converters and somehow i still cant get these damn things hooked up ive tryed many diffrent wiring setups tryn to get them to work and i just cant figure out why they dont work if there is anyone who could tell me how to wire this **** it would be greatly appriciated
I cant really assist in this matter but I can let you know that I have a system in my 2006 Chevy Cobalt and that I have an aftermarket cd player installed. I had to pay $130 for a special adapter for it to be wired into the system because GM's newest idea of installing the stereo and airbags on the same wire scheme, is kind of a dumb idea.
You can grab a switchable power line from the fuse box for a remote lead. Just make sure you use one from something that only turns on when the ignition is on or else you will kill your battery.
I just got through hooking up a converter that i got from best buy in my wife's cobalt, i got in the trunk and spliced them directly into the speaker wires and i got it to work that way. Now im having trouble figuring out how to hook the remote wire from the amp to god knows where on the factory head unit. Good luck
