Unable to open external door. It is a mortise lock. I can feel the bar sliding back. I think the problem is the catch. Any suggestions

Door lockedshut with washing inside

Disconnect from the power socket. Leave for 5 minutes.
If still not opening, ensure it is not plugged in and remove the lid by unscrewing fixings at the back and sliding forward.

Catch can then be released from inside casing by sliding lock bar.

Will need new door interlock assembly.

I locked my keys in my ignition in my 88 legend Coupe LS does anyone know how to open from the trunk so I casn crawl in

Only by breaking and entering: you'd have to punch out the lock cylinder to get to the latch.
Try a coathanger wire past the door molding to reach the door lock and trip it. A "slim jim" may also work-a thin metal bar that slides down the outside of door window into door and catches the lock rod to spring lock open. Finally, call a locksmith to open door, and have him make you a spare key after he opens door.
Good luck.

Our back door (double glazed with locks at top, middle and bottom) has become permanently locked from the inside. It would appear that the lock at the top has bolted shut. (We have safestyle doors and...

Hi, W/D here.

Easy fix. Your upper locking bar has slipped. While someone is holding the door handle in the open position, you'll need to push the upper lock bolt back far enough to get the door open. You can slide it back carefully with a screwdriver or knife, a little at a time, while holding slight tension on the door with the handle. OK, door's open. Remove the inner door lock cover plate. The lever and locking knob will come off with it. Remove the mortise cover plate, on the edge of the door. Insert a small, thin bladed into the upper alignment slot in the lock behind the mortise cover plate, and loosen the upper allen screw behind the inside lock cover plate. Use the screwdriver to engage a slot in the locking bar, and raise or lower the bar until you have it level with the alignment slot. Tighten the allen screw.
Sometimes, the bar is so far out of alignment that you will have to gain access to the other end of the bar, in order to raise or lower it. This is done by removing the plastic cover on top of the door, and using needle nosed pliers to move the bar.
This should fix you up.

Best regards, --W/D--

UNABLE TO OPEN DOOR AFTER WASH

Remove the top cover, and release the door catch from inside the washer, you will probably need a screwdriver or similar to do do this.
You will need to replace the door catch and spring, and possibly the door lock, as it may break when you force the door open.

Unable to remove black cartridge, it is really stuck. Help

I just changed my black toner this past week, and finally figured out why the cartridges get stuck like this.

First, you must eject the toner cartridge on the front-panel menu:
Menu->Replace Toner->Eject Toner->Black(K)

It will say "Rotating to Black Toner(K)" and then say "Black Toner(K) Ready to Eject"

Now, open the front panel and you'll see the black toner cartridge in front. You can also open the top panel if you want more light on your work area.

Lift the lock handle on the old toner cartridge to the "unlock" position, and here's the part that the Dell instructions don't have:

There are two channels for the toner cartridges -- one on each side. Run your finger down the channel on the right, and you'll feel a small, spring-loaded catch. This catch often gets sticky and won't release the cartridge without some help. Don't force it, but gently move it towards the back of the printer and it should release.

Now the old cartrdige should slide right out, and you can finish per the instructions that came with the new cartridge.

I would like to install a used mortise lock in an old door which has the cut out for a smaller mortise lock. I am hoping to use a power tool and not a chizel because the door is a 100 year old hard wood...

Can't think of a bit which will do what you want but you could stitch drill it to the desired size then chisel the holes square this should reduce any chance of cracking

Baldwin 6321 mortise:when locked can open from either side

It sounds as if the lock is installed backwards or more specifically in inside mechanism. The inside lever/handle when turned should retract the deadbolt (safety feature). If yours does not currently switch around.

Electrolux oven door

I think your talking about the door hinges. If that is it, just pull to25% open position and slide the door back on them.
