Electric Range Frigidaire Professional Series Model CPLEFZ98GCA. The power to the Stove and Oven goes OFF, while the clock is ON. When I try to start the Oven, it shows the F20 ERROR message and starts beeping. Any recommendations?

Hi,

The last expert is correct.

According to the Frigidaire technical documentation, most likely the cause of the problem is a bad Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Check the wire harness and the P4 connector at the EOC. If the wire harness and the connector are fine, replace the EOC

You could try to disconnect the power supply for few minutes, say 15 minutes and see, if that could help the situation unless you need to replace EOC/Clock/Control board.

I don't think it is sensor as this is a common problem on these units and 99% it is faulty EOC.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Note - Kindly perform the repair, if you have prior appliance repair experience. These ovens are quite dangerous to work. It could not only damage the oven but could also harm you,if done in an appropriate way.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

This typically means that the temp sensor is reading too high, you will need to replace the control board and temp sensor, for information on how to perform the repair, please reply. The parts you need can be ordered at http://www.reliableparts.com/, using your model number.

You will need to pull the machine out from the wall completely.Thean unplug the machine. You can do the whole repair from the rear of the machine. You will need a phillips screw driver and a 1/4 inch socket. Remove the rear panels at the back of the machine and you can access the board and the temp sensor, it will have 2 small purple or white wires going to it. Unscrew the temp sensor from inside the oven cavity and pull it through, the install the new sensor. Then you can install the board, it looks more complicated than it is, just unplug one connection at a time and connect them to the new board. Sometimes i even take a picture of it before hand so i will remember where all the connections go.

Hello arab125 - I understand that the timer and clock works fine, however from what you have described it sounds like the range could possibly have a wiring failure, faulty sensor, or an issue with the EOC. I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

Hello,Please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacement of the electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC. However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes – 362 Series (General Electric)
F1 = Stuck Touch Pad Key - Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 911 Series (General Electric/Roper)
