I had no lights on my control panel, eventhough power was good.
I replaced the control panel ($265 part), it worked for 2 weeks, then I now have the same problem.
Frustrated, I am probably going to buy new from a different manufacturer.
Whirlpool/maytag does not warranty electronic parts if you do it yourself.

I'm having somewhat of the same problem. Only difference is that all the lights will illuminate and so when I select how I want the cycle to run, I go to hit the start button...... and nothing happens. I just may purchase an control panel and roll the dice. Still, it baffles me that everything works but the start button. Does not compute.

Brace yourself as Maytag Whirlpool will not stand behind their products. I purchased the replacement component and it worked for two weeks, then stopped working. Maytag would not warranty the component, nor did they offer a solution.
I am now the proud owner of a Bosch dishwasher and will never buy a Maytag/Whirlpool/Jenn Air etc. appliance again!

My dishwasher the maytag quiet series 300, will not respond to the start button

Find your circuit breaker for your dishwasher and turn it off for 3-5 minutes. Turn it back on, then turn on your dishwasher. If this works, after the complete cycle of your dishwasher, you have to turn it off manually by pressing "on" botton then press it 1 more time to cancel; this will turn off. The defect is, probably the moisture built up in the control board causing it to ground some of the connections. Suggestion for the manufacturer, insulate the control board to prevent absorbing moisture.

Maytag quiet series 300

Maytag Quiet Series 300. The lights flash in sequence starting from the outside traveling inward. The timer counts backwards from 50 to 1. Then the sequence starts over. and continues over and over. I'm able to clear it when the time reaches 1 or 2. It stays off for a while (3-4 hours) then starts over. I can not clear the countdown until it reaches 1 or 2. After I clear it the dishwasher will work, but until then, no way. This happens with the door open or closed.

Hi jeffwirch,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: You have a maytag quiet series 300. When it is done with any of the cycles in leaves about 1-2 inches of water in the bottom of the dishwasher. You can manually hit the start button twice and it will go through a 2 minute cycle and pump out the water. You have cleaned the filter inside the dishwasher where it drains and have checked the hose to the disposal and it pumps out fine. It just doen't pump itself at the end of the cycle.

It sounds like a bad control board. It's in the top of the door panel. I don't recomend this repair to the average homeowner. You might consider the Repair Directory to find a repairman.
