Have three garage doors, remote worked on all three until today, now the remote works with 2 out of 3 but not the 3rd. if you hit the button mounted by the door for the 3rd garage door, it opens (i.e. the garage door opener seems to still function) i thought might be a bad battery, but then would not expect the other two garage doors to open

Or the remote just needs to be reprogrammed. If that does not work then get someone out to wire up a external receiver for you.

I have a liftmaster formula 1 1280R opener that works fine from the wall mount but all of a sudden both remotes and the built-in remote in my car stopped working. It is not the batteries in the remotes. ...

The motor/control unit may have gotten reset. It needs to relearn the codes transmitted by the remotes.

MIne has a "learn" button on the control unit. Press and hold, then press the button on the remote. Lights will flash indicating it has received and stored the code. Release button.

Check to see if the remote works now. If so, all three should be working. If not, dig up your manuals.

Check to see if your child/animal security beam is working correctly. It is an "Electric Eye" mounted about 12 in off of the floor on two mounting points and one side shoots an infra red beam across to a receiver. These points must be reasonably aligned to flash a beam (cannot see) from one point to another. This beam keeps the door open if it is interrupted . If it is not aligned, then the door opener sees a problem and will not close the door electrically. You must aligned the beam by bending the transmitter or receiver untill you can close the door by the remote. Also check to see if something placed in the garage is not blocking the beam first.

Wall mount button LED is flashing, remotes won't work, door won't close unless the wall mount button is held down until the door is fully closed

Sounds like you have a couple problems. First of all press and hold the button on the wall control that has a lock icon for 3 seconds and release. This should take care of the flashing LED and the remotes will now work. Having to hold the button on the wall control until the door is closed is usually a problem with the door sensors. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each is lit and not flickering.

I have 2 liftmaster 3245. The hand held remotes were working fine then stopped. I replaced the batteries and turned of all electrical/RIF close by. Still not working. Both cars operate the doors with no...

You need to reprogram the remotes by briefly pushing the learn button on the garage door opener until it flashes once, then release the button on the garage door opener.

Now press the remote button once until you hear the garage door opener click, now press the remote button once again and the remote should be programmed to work for that garage door opener.

DO NOT press and hold the garage door opener learn button for more than 10 seconds or you'll erase all programs and have to relearn all the remotes, including your car ones.

Hope you found this very helpful and best regards.

HomeLink works in vehicle... unable to program hand held or remot

When did your remote and keypad quit working? Was it when you programmed the Homelink? It sure sounds like you have a bad logic board.

The wall button has a green light that is blinking and the car remote will not operate the garage door but the wall button works

this just happened to us today as well. the wall pad has three buttons: one large back-lit button pad to open it and a lock button and a light button. the open button was blinking quickly and would open the door, but the car remotes did not work. I found that by pushing both the "lock" and "light" button at the same time for about 3 or 4 seconds, the back-lit "open" pad stopped blinking and went to steady green. I went back to the cars and checked the remotes there. both opened the door.

hope this helps someone out there

Programing the garage door opener

First press the two outside buttons of the three mounted. Hold them until you see a flash of the light. This clears any previous programming.
Next Press the assigned button at the same time press your garage door remote button. Hold the remote upward within half inch of the buttons. Press at the same time until you see a flash.
If your rolling codes align from your unit then it should work by pressing the assigned button.
If not, you have to go directly to your garage door unit in the garage. There is a button that could be black, green, purple, orange, or clear. That is a learn button. Press it ( DO NOT HOLD IT ) just a quick press. (If you hold it in it will break your frequency code and go into reset, your remotes will not work and will have to be reset as well)
So, after you press that button you will see a light , maybe flashing, maybe not Then you have 30seconds to get back into car and press and hold the assigned button (1,2, or 3) for 2-3 seconds let go do three times. Allow a few seconds or count to 3 for each of the three times. The garage door will go up or down when it's accepted the frequency.
Gates are a breeze! Just do step 1 and as soon as it flashes you're connected.
Good Luck!.

Remotes don't work (3)

Did you inadvertantly hit the "vacation lock" button on the Mounted push button? This will cause the remotes not to work. Try hitting the button again, and then see if the blinking goes to solid green.

Good Luck
