If it was a memory error the copier would indicated this.

It may be due to bad line connection or limitations of the server, but if you are getting a log error, it is most likely a bad connection to the internet.

I'll have to call tech support on this one but I have a feeling that the job is too big for the copier to convert into a pdf file and send it out. It could be cause by lack of printer memory to handle the job. If the copier is hooked up to a fiery controller, then it would work because it has enough hard drive space to process it. You could try changing the format from pdf to another file format and see if that works or break the run up into two jobs.

There is a possibility too that the document may be to big for the e-mail server to accept. PDF files can be large files and some company e-mail servers will only accept files 64mb or less. The best way to find out is to sent the e-mail to yourself. If it accepts it, chances are thats the problem.

I spoke with NEC who makes a model that is identical to the Bizhub 350 which we are authorized dealers of here in South Seattle. NEC calls it a IT3530

According to the tech notes notes we haven't had any reports of any e-mail transfers issues or anything of a transfer error.

If the standard memory is the same as the NEC there is only 64mb or memory installed in the copier. For a 40 page document to be converted into a PDF using the hard drive and that amount of memory in the copier as a buffer, is pretty tight to begin with. That and when you are using it as a printer and a fax machine is quite a bit of things to happen on that machine and hoping it works without any hiccups.

The best thing to do is to contact your Konica/Minolta dealer and find out if you need a memory upgrade for transmitting pdf files that big or if there is a firmware update to correct the problem. There is an optional memory board available.

pdf files are graphic intesive documents and they do need some room to work with when the size gets too big.

Scanner will not save large scan over 300 pages

Reduce the scan resolution or breakup the scan job to be saved into multiple documents.
It is likely that you are using 32bits OS or 32 bits office software.

A 64bits OS + 64bits Office 2010/2013 would be able save larger documents.

Scanning document to email. 20 pgs. Get "Error Type: Transfer" result report. What does it mean? Running Firmware version 2GR_2000.022.001 2008.08.06

Error Type: Transfer means your scanner/printer is having an issue transferring the documents to the place you want it to go. This usually means the device can't find a network or you've typed in your email incorrectly.
Did you type your email in correctly? Are your networks settings correct and working?
Are you able to send just one page to test it out?

Please help... when i scan more than 10 docs and then try to attach it to an email, it states that the file is too large ... please help me with my Lexmark X4270

You should setup the scan resolution to a lot less.
Scanned images can take a lot of space it scanned at high resolution and with many colors.
If it is a document, you can set it to scan black and white or gray and instead of the default resolution (300dpi) you should try scanning at 75dpi or 100dpi.
Those settings can reduce a scanned image to few ks instead of 10s of megs.

The average mail systems can't handle mail messages larger than 10Mb.

I would also suggest playing with the scanner to get the best results before trying to mail the scanned documents.

How do I scan and transfer to outgoing email??

Hi. Here are the steps you need to do to send a scanned document/image using your default email application. Place your orinal document/image on the printer. Using the Productivity Studio software, click email, select the scan type (photo, several photos or document). Click start. Click create email to attach the file to the email message. Hope this helps. There's also a PDF file User Guide you can download from the Lexmark website for your reference. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/9gZV0u . Click on the 9500 Series All-In-One User's Guide found below the page. Download the PDF file. Refer to Scanning page for concerns about scanning. Good luck!

I scanned a document, but when I go to attach the file, it stays in attaching files forever??

Greg, Do you mean that when you want to send it by email it keeps attaching the file forever? If yes then check the size of the scanned document. What happens is that the moment you attach a document to an email Windows start sending it to the email server and that takes time as uploading is slower than downloading. And if the file a large one as scanned documents can be, then it will take that much longer. Try a smaller document first. Size wise small document. If that works fine then you can try larger documents. yes it may be time consuming but there is no price for mental satisfaction. To reduce the size of the scanned document, reduce the pixels in settings of the scanner. or reduce the page size. You will find the document reduced many times over.

Ricoh Aficio 2027 when scanning documents over 4 or 5 pages e-mail documents with no attachments, and pages of gibberish in the body of the e-mail. How do I fix this?

Try increasing the "max email size" -or turning it off all together.
I'm going by my own memory, so, you may have to do some browsing of settings, but I believe the setting is under: "User tools", "Scanner features", "send settings", (or some similar button under scanner features). There you should see a setting for Max. email size (or similar). The default is 2048kb.....try increasing it to whatever you want- maybe 4000-5000kb, and check the results.
Usually the machine will stop scanning when it reaches the max size, so I'm not sure if this is the problem, or if we are talking about very large files that actually exceed your emails capacity to allow an email of this size? How large are these files once scanned that you are talking about? What is your scanner's resolution set at? 200dpi is more than sufficient for text. You can check that at the same location as above only select "scan settings", "default settings". If resolution is set to 400 or 600 dpi the files will become MUCH larger than they need to be.
Hope this helps.

Scanning quetion

This is beyond the copier's capabilities.

My suggestion would be to scan as one complete and then break the document apart afterwards.

You can use the auto-feeder but it's function is to scan large quantities as one and not the other way round as you wish.

Place one sheet in, hit start and place the next in when it is transferring is the quickest it will work from the copier.

Merging attachments of scanned files sent by email

You can use the IP Scanner software to scan the documents from your Bizhub to your pc. Once the documents are in your PC you can take apart which pages you want from the scanned documents and save them to another file and e-mail them through your computer that way.
