E1 Is an RPM sensor error message. It simply means either the belt is not moving or the sensor is defective.
If the belt moves slowly then shuts down, check the RPM sensor located close to the drive pulley (under the motor hood). verify that it is as close to the pulley as possible without making contact. Verify that the magnet is present (mounted on the pulley). it will be a small round magnet, 3/8-1/2 inch diameter. If the magnet is missing, it may have attached itself somewhere on the treadmills frame. Reinstall it in the pulley.
Often there is an RPM LED located on the controller PCB. By manually passing the magnet past the sensor, you should see the LED flash. If so, that verifies the operation of the sensor, if not replace the sensor.
If the belt doesn't move at all, likely the motor controller PCB is defective..

Reebok ZR8 Treadmill error code E01

If the E1 error occurs after the belt starts to move for several seconds, the error code means that the system is not picking up the speed of the motor. This pickup comes from a magnet mounted on the front roller pulley and a speed sensor, or a problem with the magnet.Feb 29, 2016

True Treadmill Errors and Service Messages
  • The True 600, 700, 725 and 750 series treadmills are equipped with built-in diagnostics and maintenance reminders that display either an error message or service message as they occur.
  • The error messages that may be displayed by the built-in diagnostics are as follows:
    • E1:INCLINE
      • This means that the incline is moving when it has not been commanded to.
    • E1:MINIMUM
      • This is a minimum incline calibrating error that can be cleared by calibrating the incline.
    • E1:RANGE
      • This means the difference between the treadmills zero position and maximum incline is not sufficient.
    • E1:STALL
      • This means that the incline is not moving when it has been commanded to.
    • E2:OVERSPEED
      • This occurs when acceleration greater than 2.1 mph occurs as this is greater acceleration than anticipated.
    • E2:CAL
      • This means feedback cannot reduce or increase speed to target and error can be cleared by calibrating treadmill.
    • E3:EEPROM
      • This error happens when a data error is detected on the EEprom. The control panel needs replaced if this error occurs.
    • E5:SENSOR
      • This error occurs when there is no speed or RPM feedback detected from speed sensor.
  • The service messages that may be displayed by the built-in maintenance reminders are as follows:
    • S1:LUBE
      • This service message displays when it is time for inspection of the deck lubrication system.
    • S2:CLEAN
      • This service message displays every 500 miles and is your prompt to clean the treadmill.
    • S3:MOTOR
      • This service message displays every 2500 hours and is your prompt to check the motor brushes.
  • This information should help you understand the cause of the error message or code and how to take action to repair your True treadmill

I get an error message E1 on my Athlon model Simplicity treadmill. Belt stops. Any ideas on what this means?

Step 1:

ERR 1 - Motor Movement

ERR1 indicates a speed issue. In this case, the motor speed as reported from the optic sensor differs

from the speed setting.

Analysis: Optic sensor signal issue -- Either the optic sensor signal is not right, or it is read incorrectly, or

the signal is not reaching the display.

Clean the s.speed , test for open or faulty-see the diagram for adjust. tight the connector very well.

God bless you

I have a Freespirit Treadmill...Model l# JM05-001. I was using it and it just shut off giving error message E1. I turned it off and restarted it. Belts are working fine and did not use incline. It runs...

Don't laugh, but I'm working with an old Athlon Simplicity model to try and adapt the motor to a band saw. In any event. There is a magnet imbeded on the outside of the front belt roller. It triggers a circuit that counts the revolutions. There should be a small postage stamp sized black plastic piece near the belt roller that has two wires running to the circuit board. It may have come unplugged somehow. When I unplug mine - the motor stops and it displays E1.

After selfcleaning my electrical range Kenmore the door still loc

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

Treadmill runs then stops. E1 error and sometimes works fine.

Yes if speed sensor is too far from magnet it will not pick up belt movement. This confuses the computer and as a safety precaution it shuts the machine off. Find speed sensor and check for proper alighment with magnet.
