How long does it take to fully charge my30 Navman through the computer I have been charging my new Navman GPs fo over 15 hours and it still keeps on charging.

Can you charge it from the cigarette lighter cord? I'm thinking some GPS will neither charge nor run from a USB power source. Garmin, I believe, uses USB only for updates, not as a power supply.

It has a charge controller that takes care of that for you.

Best to charge unit from Mains or Computer USB, then you know it's fully charged. Navman has charge in battery but you need to fully charge it yourself , then you know where you are.

You need to hold the power button for about 5 seconds to turn it on. If that does not turn it on. Then you need to run a check on some of the components of the device. You start with the battery, then charger and the device seem to be working fine, because when you plug it in, the device amber lights come on. It is supposed to turn green when it is fully charged, but it seems like the battery is not holding a charge, that is why it is not turning green.

Test another well charged battery inside the device to see if it will power on and work properly, if it does, then it means all you have to do is to replace the battery, but if it does not power it on, then it means there is an internal problem with the unit.

Try to connect it to a computer to see if it will detect it. Once it detects it, try to charge in on there for some time to see if it will hold a charge there.

If it is properly charged, it will be able to power on fully. Also check the device on the computer to see if the software and files are still on the unit. That should also assist you in solving the problem.

2) Thed correct BAUD rate and PORT are set ( see manual)
3) You are oiutside and there is a clear view of the sky.

Still failing? Then possible damaged SIIRF chip caused by starting engine while plugged into power socket

hello no you dont need to go out to load maps and they can be bought from computer shops or downloaded from your navmans website, i also suggest to leave your navman on charge about an hour after it had registered full for the first time.

that is probably due to the battery being totaly dead,
try using a mobile phone charger (nokia),
usb is for data transfers.
