Is it possible to scan using 210 model scanner by network?

Some scanners have a hard time when configured to save to a network folder using a UNC [Uniform Naming Convention] path.

Sometimes you can bypass some of these issues by mapping the network folder to a local drive letter then making that drive the save location for scanned files.

Are you at liberty to share what Make/Model scanner is in use?


How to disconnect and disconnect a network drive:

Windows XP

• To map a network drive:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type cmd.
  3. Type net use x: \\computer name\share name, where x: is the drive letter you want to assign to the shared resource.
• To disconnect a mapped drive:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type cmd.
  3. Type net use x: /delete, where x: is the drive letter of the shared resource.

you need to install colour network scangear. Its available in the driver cd or you can download it from canon's site. Install the driver. select scangear tool from programs. put the printer in scanner mode then click search. the scanner and ip address will be listed.click it and then click select. then exit from the window. Color network scangear is available for windows only. Now for scanning you need

(i) windows word 2007

insert>picture>from scanner/camera and you will get scanning window.

(ii)in earlier version of ms office
there will be office document scanning tool
select scanner
you will get scanner window

(iii) photoshop

file> import
you will have to select scanner
then you will get the window for scanning.

(iv) word 2008
clip manager> insert clip
select custom insert
you will get scanner window

Not all multi-function devices incorporate the ability to scan via a network connection. Since you didn't provide a printer model, I can't look it up to answer this fully. The ability to scan via a network connection is a function of the software that is provided with the printer. Check the documentation to be sure that the printer does indeed support network scanning and then go to the printer manufacturer's website and download the latest application (driver) package to eliminate the possibility of a software issure. The software should install a device in your scanners and cameras (Windows XP) that can then be used as a scanner source for applications within your computer.

I don't know if it's an exact replacement, but Radio Shack power cord Model 61-212 (catalog # 61-212) looks it will probably work on the 210. If you use it on AC power only, you might also consider opening the case and carefully/permanently soldering an extension cord into the set. If you go that route, be sure that the wires are well isolated and insulated.

Some network scanners have the ability to scan to PC's. I have the Brother MFC-465CN all-in-one ethernet network printer. This scanner lets me press scan and decide which PC to send the scanned image to.

If it is a USB scanner then I don't think this is possible.

Have you tried using Scanners and cams in start menu rather than using scan button on printer?

The Bearcat 210 Manual specifically states that the lowest freq available is 32MHz.

Hi there I had the same problem with auto focus sf-210.
If tried many things to correct the problem and what I found was that if you you put a small book halfway on the opposite site of the power button then I have maybe 1 or to slides out of focus and the other 35 slides are perfect ! (I used it with HAMA slides other slides I didn't test )
