Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
No technician can do more than this, he/she can do anything except.

SOURCE: rolling picture

Try the free view and see if the box is bad, then if it still does the sane thing, I bet theres a bad connection on the driver IC board, on a connecting ribbon cable, or a bad drive ic. These are things that a user should not attempt to repai, as there are no user replaceable parts inside this set and should be serviced by a train tech. Good Luck

SOURCE: 42'' LG Plasma bought in Australia doesn't work in UK?

Find out if Australia uses a different standard of HD programming than Guernsey or not since it's not picking up any channels at all with an attenna. Does the skybox use only scart connections and that's how your small lcd is connected to it?

SOURCE: my lcd tv makes a humming noise

Try removing all cables going to the TV except the power cord. Power on the TV and press mute. If you have any unwanted noise, then you have a defective TV and since it is new, you should get an exchange. If there is no noise with the A/V cables removed, then you might have hooked the source (cable box/DVD Player) into the wrong inputs of the TV.

Lamps have a limited life. They useually last 1000 hours or so. If the TV is on from 07:00 until say 23:00 every day, that equates to 60 days.
There is no such lamp as a "One time replacement lamp" as they do not last for ever.
The average life of a lamp is just about 6 months.
If the picture is cloudy is probably needs the optice cleaning. It is very fiddly and damage can occur easily so get an authorised Hitachi repair service department to clean it for you. It should be carried out in your home and will take less than an hour. If anything gets broken, it is not your problem if they are heavy handed.

Hope that helps.

Call Samung customer service, they are doing this repair for free. I had the same problem at 11 months, they replaced the power supply board under warranty. At 2 years I had the exact same problem again and this time they replaced 2 - 50 cent capacitors on the power supply board. It took the repair man less than an hour and he had the replacement capacitors on hand. The original board and the replacement board they gave me had capacitors that were faulty. Hopefully these new capacitors will last. I have to say that I was thinking (no more samsung products for me) but I got excellent customer service and they admit that they had a faulty product and they accepted responsibility.

I have the same issue. Bought the TV 1/08 and it started showing those exact symptoms about 3-4 months ago. It generally progresses and gets worse. You can try to fix it as it's some kind of TAB connector issue, or keep calling Sony so that the 52" owners of the XBR4 and 5 series get the extended warranty just like the 46" owners received for the same series. If enough of us keep calling, they'll have to act.

Sharp LC-46SB54U Keeps losing picture intermittantly

i believe your tv is getting overheated, possibly from dust getting onto the electronic components inside. or the inverter board for the lcd panel inside is going bad, alot of times it is the capacitors on the lcd inverter board going bad.
