The ink obsorber is full on my7 canon MP160 printer How can I fix the problem

1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding
the Stop/ Reset button.
2) When the Power LED is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a
service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)
4) When the LED lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of time(s) according to the
function listed in the table below.(Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in
orange and green, starting with orange.)

you need to actually open the printer. the ink absorber is a piece of...thick tissue that;s absorbing the wasted ink. replace it with something else, then use mptool to clear the error message...here;s my email if you need an additional help:  [email protected]

Waster ink obsorber is full for canon pixma ip4200

Its full ? Have you see the ink absorbers (in the bottom of the machine?)

If the ink absorbers are ok, then you have to reset the ink count.

Ok this is the code to get the printer to work but you will need to clean it out some time.


  • Turn off the canon printer


  • Hold the Resume Button (red circle in the triangle), add a printer (click “Power”) an indicator light green.


  • Hold the Power Button, release the Resume Button.


  • Not releasing the Power Button, double click “Resume” and release Both Buttons.


  • Click “Resume” for Four times


  • Once you click “Power”, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer “Power” button to click again.


  • Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

    How to fix it

    the ink absorber MUST be emptied on a regular basis. check this link(for drivers) and follow the Canon links to support and then user manual.
