Son interrupted a firm ware update now PSP won't turn on

did you have cfw (custom firm ware) on your psp that allowed you to play downloaded games from other sites other than psn. if so what you did was to overwrite the cfw and installed the ofw (official firm ware). sony releases ofw to cut down on piracy. so if this is your case you may want to look on youtube on "psp cfw" there are alot of videos on it and it should get you up and running again. if you ever get cfw installed on your psp again DO NOT UPGRADE WITH SONY OFFICIAL FIRM WARE OR YOU'LL HAVE TO REDO THE CFW

Get the latest firmware from the sony site and a pandora battery to unbrick the psp.

Use the pandora battery to load the service mode, this is like a normal bettery **** enhanced, use it to load the new firmware.

If this doesn't work, get a new main board for your psp.

try downloading update on computer. then take eboot file and put it on your mem stick in the x:psp/game folder then run the game if this doesn't work i can reflash an original firm ware for you for5$ plus shipping email me [email protected]

do you have custom firm ware. if not try cleaning laser with qtip & alcohol if still a problem try updating firm ware still not working needs servicing either drive is bad or firm ware has a bad sector

im not sure maybe the memory and updates inside the psp got jugled ask if your son drop it

Go to System Settings under Settings in the Home Menu. Click Restore Default Settings. The password should then be 0000 or 9999

Try this, what you do is take out the Battery, plug in the charger, put the Battery back in... turn PSP on. See if it'll work.

If you want to play mutiplayer both should have the copy of the same game(in u r came Juiced 2) on the PSP. or else it wont work.

just press select botton to display the vsh menu and select umd iso mode and change the normal to sony np9660 that's all

you failed to state if your son was doing the update via UMD disc. im inferring so, so if the battery died while it was updating, your sons PSP is bricked. you need a Pandora battery + magic memory stick. you can find them on ebay, amazon, anywhere. also if you ask around where you live some people may do it locally.
