The print screen key doesn't actually print directly to your printer. It taks a screeshot of the the screen instead.

Try this.
1. Press the print screen key.
2. Open up Ms Paint or Ms Word.
3. Go to Edit and select Paste.
4. Go to File and select Print.

now you can print it to your print.

As mentioned above it is not for actually printing. It's there to take a screen shot of your computer screen. To learn how to use that button click the link below:

How do I print screen on lenovo t61p?

I use the combination of pressing <Ctrl>+<Fn>+<Print Screen> to copy the screen capture to the clipboard. The Ctrl and Fn keys are adjacent in the lower left hand corner of the keyboard (just left of the Windows key). The Print Screen button is the key to the farthest to the right on the top-most row of keys (look for the blue paper + printer icon).

Next open Paint. (Start > Accessories > Paint). Then choose Paste from the left hand side of the ribbon. (There is a down arrow which gives Paste or Paste From options. Just use the Paste.)
Now crop the screen capture if desired and then click on File > Print > Print. Then select your printer and press Print.

Nearly any image editor will work after the screen capture is in the clipboard.

I hope this helps.

How do I get my prtscn to print straight

Instructions
  1. Use PrintKey2000 to Direct Print
    • 1Download and save PrintKey2000 or PrintKeyPro from the "Resources" section. Save the file in a folder named "Printkey" on your "C:" drive. Double click the .exe file and follow the onscreen instructions for a problem-free installation.
    • 2 Access the Print Key program by double-clicking the hand icon in the bottom right hand corner of the task bar.
    • 3 Double click the "Options" tab in the upper right hand corner. Click on "Define Hot-keys." Set a hotkey for printing the full desktop and for printing the active screen you are in.
    • 4 Navigate back to the "Options" tab and select "Direct Print (No Dialog)" so that it has a check mark next to it.
    • 5 Select the "Printer Options" function on the main program screen. Select the printer you want the print jobs sent to.
    • 6 Select a screen to use as a test. Press your hotkey for printing the full desktop and then the hotkey to print the active page. You want to make sure both functions work properly.
Use the Print Screen Function Without a Plug-in Program
    • 7 Press the "Print Screen" key on the keyboard to print the full desktop. Press the "Alt" key plus the "Print Screen" key to print the active window.
    • 8 Click "Start" in the lower left of the taskbar. Navigate to "Applications" and choose the Microsoft Paint program.
    • 9 Click "Edit" in the program screen and click the "Paste" option. You will now see a copy of your screen capture.
    • 10 Navigate to "File" and save the screen capture as a .jpeg file. Navigate to "File" again and click "Print" to send the job to an installed printer.
Using the Print Key Function with ScreenShot 2 Print
    • 11 Download and install ScreenShot 2 Print. ScreenShot 2 Print has a free trial option, and as of May 2010, costs $7 for the full version. Configure the program to print to a designated printer from the onscreen commands. The screen captures will print automatically when the required keys are pressed.
    • 12 Hold down the "Control" key (Ctrl) and the "Print Screen" key to capture a screen shot of the full desktop. The image will be sent directly to the designated printer.
    • 13 Hold down the "Shift" key and "Print Screen" key to take a screen shot of the active window, which is sent directly to the printer.

Can't use the print screen key

Pressing the print key places the information displayed on the screen into the "clipboard". Just open word or wordpad and "right-click" in the text area and select "paste" from the pull-down. This will place the info in the clipboard into your document which you can now print to your printer.

Same lines won't print

Sorry, but this is impossible, as a "printer problem". This is clearly a "software/buffer/document" problem.

This can ONLY happen (on two printers, same results) if the DOCUMENT has "exclusive" properties or instruction sets, or "invalid data" for the "missing" lines. For example, you may be printing an HTML document with "DO NOT CACHE" meta tag or java instructions about specific lines or form entries. Many sites (like banks, registration, or encrypted mail/login pages) do this as a security measure to prevent critical data from being inadvertently printed (and ending up outside in trash cans for an ID thief to pilfer). Other possibilities: The lines are NOT text data, they might be IMAGES of text, and saved in a format the printer/buffer does not support. Any of these examples would allow the software to DISPLAY the specific (missing) lines of text -yet NOT print them.

To test my theory (almost a certainty really), simply open the document and select PRINT SCREEN key (or use whatever key commands capture the screen as an image). This copies what YOU see, to the clipboard as a single "image" file (instead of a variety of ASCII characters, images, and code).

Next, open "PAINT" in accessories under MSlop (or any IMAGE editor like Photoshop, Gimp, etc)

Select NEW and agree to the screen size you are using (1024x768, 800x600, 1280x800, etc)

Select PASTE from file menu (or CTRL/V keys). Your document will now appear.

Print the document. The "missing lines" will now show up! If the document is too long for one screen shot, you may have to scroll down, recapture (PRINT SCREEN, etc) and paste one or more images into each other before printing it as a single IMAGE.
