I believe that the syptoms you are experiencing include the power button lighting up during start up and the fan cycling for 5 seconds, but no other activity. There may or may not be a series of audible "beeps". A CD will come up to speed, but will not load. I have had this happen three times with my M35X-S111 due to it not being able to recognize the RAM. The first two times, I re-seated the RAM and it successfully booted. The third time, I reseated the RAM 50+ times with it only successfully booting once. The slot that holds the RAM cards does make a good electrical contact with the cards. Since the RAM holder is integral to a card, you cannot replace it with a "generic" holder, instead, you have to replace the entire card. I discarded my Toshiba after that third failure.

Scott when you plug your Motorola Luge in does it blink or have any sign of life from the light either at the top of the phone or backlight of the screen?
If you hit power button and no signs of life display it may be your power supply. If you have signs of life and your bios loads but not your operating system then it may be your OS. if every thing appears to load fine and you may even hear startup sounds but still see nothing check your video card/display plugins and outlets
If you have already checked the connections from the screen to the PC, check that you have a power light on the screen. (Green or Amber). If no light, check power to screen. If it is amber, then the screen is not getting a signal from the PC - recheck connections. I would suggest you try and connect the pc to a different monitor to check whether it is the screen or the PC.
If it is the same on another Monitor or if the power button is green on the screen, then the pc is not sending information properly. Turn the pc off manually by holding the power button on the bottom half for about 10 seconds. All lights should go off from it. Now turn it back on again and see what happens.
If you see loading windows and then goes black, do the following:
Turn off the pc (bottom half). Turn back on and as soon as you pressed the button to turn on, start tapping the F8 key until you come to "Windows Advanced options" screen. use the arrow keys and go to Enable VGA mode. Press the return key twice. If it loads to windows, then fine. If not, then you may have a problem with the display adapter.
