Neither one. Almost all lcd, plasma, and dlp monitors utilize capacitors to form a static charge to energize the screen. Those capacitors are extremely tempermental, and can go out with no notice at all.
It will work just fine, turn off, then when you turn it back on, no power. Both Best-Buy and Fry's electronics have tech's that will replace your blown out capacitors. Most of the new monitors don't have fuses anymore, nor do they have a lamp in the traditional sense. They use a chip/grid system, and the capacitors energize the grid .

No power.Flatron L 1933 TR

The problem is caused by a bad capacitor in the inverter / power supply board located in the back cover where the power cord is plugged in. If you are handy with a soldering iron, remove the 2 to 4 back cover screws including the stand, carefully unclip the front decal until board is exposed, there may be a screw or 2 holding it down. Next look for a 1000uf capacitor or higher, usually has a slight bulge at top and replace, in most cases this will correct the problem.

No power in monitor

First check for a LED indicator? if there is one is it changing when you turn on your monitor? if there is changing light then the problem might be on the power supply or maybe on the LCD lamp. To check the power supply check for a defective fuse a defective fuse has no reading on multimeter and the o.k has 000 reading. the LCD lamp power supply can be converted into different power supply. hope this may help you.

LG FLATRON L1953T-SF 17" LCD Monitor Has no power? I checked the fuse, it's OK, tried different cords still no go? would it be the power supply itself?

Did you inspect the caps, any bulging one? Measure the power supply to see if you do have 5v and 12v on the power supply/inverter board.

Unable to power on LG W1942T monitor.

It's looking more and more like your monitor has given up normal operation --- to go inside the monitor is something that is very unwise for your typical user, and it is probably best to just replace the monitor --- sorry.

My sysytem wont get shut down. any trouble shout for that?

Usually it is a software program that hangs which causes this problem. Check your task manager by hitting cntrl+alt+del if using windows and see what is not shutting down. Once you have the offemding software isolated you can shut it down manually and then check the settings for that software. Hope this helps.

L1933TR-SF LG monitor is dead. Power on blue light when plugged in comes on for a split second and then disappears. Any suggestions? Thanks Larry

You have a power supply issue in the monitor, most likely a 1 or more blown capacitors. If you are comfortable with electronics and soldering I should be able to talk you thru repairing your unit. If you don't want to attempt the repair we have a repair service and can do it for you.

Green line from top to bottom of monitor

Try changing your resolution, if the lines stay in the exact same position (so do not change together with the resolution) this might be a mediacentre issue. Press CNTRL-ALT-DEL and see in the processes tab if ehtray.exe is running. If it is running, turn it of by unchecking it and see if the lines disappeared.
