Question about LG DU-42PX12XC 42 in. Plasma HDTV

1 Answer

The picture freezes but the audio continues to operates normally. This has happened on many occassions but is happening more frequently. Can occur after only half an hour of being turned on. We usually turn it off and wait a while (sometimes a couple of hours) before it works normally again

Circuit overheated probably due to moisture condensation. Keep it on standby to dry off. Use it to dry off. Blow a room fan to help it dry off.

try shifting into neutral when this happens and see if everything works. if so it is probably the trans range sensor. it thinks it is in the start mode and cuts the things off

I have a problem with my refrigerator not cooling consistently. It seems like at least once a day it will start warming up but the compressor doesn't come on. When I turn the temp up control nothing...

I believe this is normal behaviour in all auto defrost (which means virtually all modern) fridges. In fact, this short heating period is usually programmed to happen 2 to 3 times a day. You might rightly ask why the refrigerator compartment needs to undergo "defrost" cycles when the compartment is, if the refrigerator is operating correctly, above freezing? The reason is although the compartment is above freezing, its cooling coils are well below freezing temperature, and it's these coils that need the frequent defrosting, before they build up so much frost on them that they "ice up" and no longer allow the fan blown air that cools the refrigerator compartment to pass through them.

TV freezes for a short period of time.

First a couple of questions:

1) What is the make and model please?

2) When the picture freezes, is it like a snapshot photo? or does the screen blank?

This sounds like an interruption in the digital data stream. If the picture remains on the screen, the "new" frame information is not being received nor processed. This can be as simple as a bad cable connection or noise on the digital information data lines.

Check to see if there is any pattern to when this occurs. For example, does it happen more frequently after the set has been on for a while? Try cooling down the set to see if temp effects the behavior.

Please update this and we'll work to resolve it.

Thanks,
Dan
