Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Maytag mlg2000aww ignitor flame doesnt go on when started

This dryer uses a hot surface ignitor to light the burner. test for 110 volts at the ignitor plug after you disconnect it and start the dryer, if voltage is present, replace the ignitor, part# 33002789, if no 110 volts, than you will need to check the thermal fuse located on the blower housing, if hte dryer heats a few times then fails to light after it has warmed up, you will most likely need the coil kit on the gas valve replaced. WORKING BUT NO HEAT MDG5500AWW

remove the exhaust tube from the rear of the dryer and try again for heat. If it works the tubing needs to be cleaned out thoroughly., Also upon starting you should her a click which is the ignitor firing up the burner. If not heard within one minute the ignitor is at fault

Mdg5500aww no heat / flame.

Yes, that open switch is the high limit thermostat. this will shutdown the unit and prevent it from heating. you must replace the open switch(thermostat) asap and, replace the thermal fuse as well.

Maytag Neptune Dryer

You really need a volt / ohm meter to check for Continuity & Volts

Its well worth the investment... $15.00 bucks give or take a few

I would check to see if you have 220v to back of dryer where the cord mounts to dryer,

If dryer is getting only 1 leg 110 volts instead of the 220 will it not heat.

Check themostates & heater for Continuity... Most models, Now have a.. Hi-limit fuses that need to be checked for Continuity
