Well, I cant understand your price of £24.9. I'm not too familiar with Luxor but I would say do some customer research on that brand, not only that brand but every brand your intrested in. 1080P is great, LCD is soso, if you can afford it, go for LED. LED is far better than LCD and they allow you to have 120Hz if not more for smoother clear pictures. I also recommend you to look at the back of the LCD Luxor, usually on display models the retailers try to be tricky and plug it through some HDMI cables. This enhances the pictures by far compaired to normal AV cables. Other than that, good luck in finding a tv.

Recomendation:
LED TV, with 120Hz or more refresh rate (Great for gaming), 1080p (3d is worthless at this point since you cant really do anything with it). Good Reliable Brand: Sony, Samsung (cheaper than sony and first in the led business), Panasonic, and some others that I cant think of at the moment.

Rate me.

Thanks for the information, Was supposed to be 249 pounds

Have been trying to find out a bit about the company but havent had much joy with that yet, .was the same problem with another brand i tried to research jmb. It is being sold at a reputable outlet but am a bit worried by the lack of company info.
Have been looking at tv's with 1080p after doing a bit of research to the best HD but didnt even consider looking at the reresh rate.
not a massive budget so samsung have been the main company ive been tempted with plus had a t.v that was excellent from them a few years back.

Gonna go see if i can find bit more about Luxor,
    Thank You

New flat screen hdtv has a fuzzy picture

Yes you will get a better picture quality out of a cable box if you get an HD cable box.
The reason you are getting the diminished picture is due to the signal you are feeding the TV is an analog signal. The newer HD TV's are made for digital TV and this older technology shows all its flaws on this type of TV.

When you get the new box understand that the same channels you are getting plugged directly into the tv are still going to have some grainy look to them but the good thing is that a lot of them are starting to be rebroadcast on HD channels and that is where your new toy will truly shine.

Enjoy your new TV...

Good Luck...

New sky hd remote will not operate sky+ box

Dont think so
Try resetting it by this method,it might work
To perform a RESET press [TV] and then hold [select] and [red button] together for around two seconds (until the red light blinks twice). Now press 999 (red light blinks once for a long time and then twice quickly).

Please let me know if this helps

Hooking up DVC/VCR to HD cable box/TV

Hi Seve.
Not sure what is meant by 'HD cable box'.
If you mean a DSD (Digital Satellite Decoder), then the built-in firmware prevents recording (of composite video signal).
In our country the SP requires that you buy a dedicated 'Explora' decoder which allows recording.
HD cable technology may have introduced similar anti-piracy measures.
{reminder to me: Google "HD cable TV" :)

No audio

Have you trie dputting your speaker volume up? When you start the conversation, just press the top left-side button on your phone and you should see the volume bars go up. I think this can only be done if you are actually on a call.

nechmads,
The s video connection is not a digital signal, it is analog.
