'To obtain warranty service, contact Kohler Co. either through your Dealer or Plumbing Contractor or calling 1-800-4-KOHLER or by writing: Kohler Co., Attn: Customer Service Department Kohler, Wisconsin 53044 U.S.A'
Worth a try !!! even if only to find out how to get them apart !!!!
look for a small hole in the bottom of the faucet handle,, it holds a allen type or a slotted screw for retaining the handle,, ( more than likely on a moen or Kohler its going to be a allen head,) ,, remove that and your handle should come off
He needs a handle puller. Once the screw is removed the handle puller has a long point on it that goes into where the screw was and then the outside of the handel puller clamps around the handle. You then turn the T part of the puller and up come the handle with no damage
should be able to turn the bottom piece under handle and it comes off along with handle..dont think theres a little "cap" that comes off at top of handle..but mite try prying it off it just has an o ring holding it in place and screw will be under that
some handles are removed by removing a screw in the top of the handle hidden under a small decoritive cap
some handles are removed be removing a set screw using an allen wrench in the side of the handle usually under a small rubber plug
