Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.

or

if there a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings

hope this helps

Wont take any passwords

If you have forgotten the login password, you can reset the Netgear back to the default settings by power up the Netgear and press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router until the LEDs flash.
The default login = admin
the default PW = password

Wireless connection of netgear wireless router for compaq laptop

When you look on the box that the router came in, you have to look to see what Operating Systems it is compatible with. In many cases, routers will not be compatible with vista. I have a Linksys WRT300N, and it works great with Vista.Hope this helps.
