Power outages are not that common.
If I understand correctly, you have or need some kind of automatic delay timer, like the Paragon ET series.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html#ET
Or maybe the Dayton off delay timer.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-Dayton-Off-Delay-Timer.html

Or you have an occupancy sensor with time delay like the Tork SSA.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-Digital-timers-and-manuals.html#SSA

Is this timer hard-wired into a box, where it gets steady power?
Is the timer supposed to have a back-up rechargeable battery?

If this is a digital Tork box-type timer, most of those timers have a power-loss carryover.

If you can identify your timer, or say more details about how your timer operates and where timer is located, and what fan Load is, I might be able to suggest an alternative that works for your purpose.

Setting timer on window unit to turn on and off

Hi Jessica Yacopino - Generally speaking, Frigidaire air conditioners timer option typically have the same procedure. The unit must be in the ON position for the timer delay stop option. For delay start, the unit must be in the OFF position. First, press time button. Then to adjust timer setting, tap or hold the UP arrow or the DOWN arrow to change delay timer at .5 hour increments, up to 10 hours, then by 1 hour increments up to 24 hours. The control will count down the time remaining until start (8, 7.5, 7, etc.). The Delay Start mode automatically selects cooling with maximum Fan Speed. The temperature maintained will be the same as previously set. To change the set temperature, press "COOL" then Up or Down arrows until the desired temperature is indicated on the display. After 5 seconds, the control will automatically change the display back to the hours remaining until the unit will start/stop. PRESSING the unit On/Off button at any time will cancel the Delay Start/Stop function. The Delay Start/Stop Feature will work until the unit either starts or stops. Once that happens the above steps have to be repeated again.

I am wanting to energize a relay for 3 min. then off, whether the power stay's on to coil or not! what I want to do is when a door rises and hits a switch I want to energize a coil for 3 min. whether...

You want 3 minute 'off delay' timer.
When timer is energized with push button or momentary electrical signal, circuit remains ON for set amount of time, and then turns OFF.

Most delay timers have 1 amp capacity rating, so circuit needs fast acting 1 amp fuse, and timer controls separate relay or contactor unless Load is equal to 100 watt light bulb.

I have just bought the yardworks 2 zone water timer from Canadian Tire and there are no instructions anywhere. I have managed to get it to work for one minute and I have it set to do the same in one hour...

Delayed Watering
You can delay the first watering cycle of each watering zone by up to 12 hours by using the small button at the bottom middle of each zone area. Press the delay button 1 time for each hour you wish to delay the first start time. The "Low Battery" light will illuminate when you press the button. The maximum delay is 12 hours.
For example, if you are programming at 4:00 in the afternoon and you want your timer to water every 12 hours, but you want the first watering of the day to start at 6:00 a.m., press the Delay button two times. Without the delay, the first cycle would have occurred 12 hours after the timer is programmed (4:00 a.m.). The delay feature changes that to 6:00 a.m. The timer will then water every 12 hours after that.

When I take a pic, there is a delay in the time

Hi,
There could be several problems like: 1)the focus 2)Self timer set to 2sec or 10sec 3)very slow shutter speed set
Make it as a 10 or 20 second delay on the self timer .Your problem here could be that the settings are not right. Go to the menus and reset all to original or default. Then set menus the way you like. You may have a slow memory card, try changing to a faster card, and test it.
Thank you!

Setting the delay on the oven

To correctly proceed you have to know the format the timer program is working in. SO you need to know
1Time format IE 12 hour AM - PM or 24 hr military time 2If a day, date is required M-Sun...or IE Sat 12th of March...(some times this is not a peramiter needed)

With the clock and calendar set the delay time should require a "timed mode setting" prior to being able to set the timer. Once in this mode you will have 1 of 3 ways to set the time delay depending on how the timer is set up to read your instructions. .
1 the actual time of day it is to start (set in actual clock time like the equalivant of 3:05 PM or if in military time, 24hr clock 15:05) or 2 the actual delay time until the program is set to start (again set in hours and minutes 2:10 = 2 hours and 10 minutes from now) 3 also is the stop time, when you want to program to end (also set in the format the timer is programed to recieve instructions)

Also the calendar could be waiting for input as to which day to start the program

. You probably have too many time delays in your system and check the timer set points. sometime some thermostat has a time delay and the unit itself has a circuit board time delay.

I have a york hvac system that is 5 years old. I have the thermostat set at 74 and when it turns on only the fan runs circulating the existing air in the house about 20 percent of the time. The a\c works...

It sounds to me like you have a delay on start timer on the compressor that possibly is starting to fail or someone may have adjusted the time band up on it. I myself would remove it and install a delay on break timer and a 5 minute setting would be ample time.

Hope this helps Ya
