A dark line on the hp 2500 series can come from the drum You can't clean it at home), it can come from a toner cartridge, from the fuser unit and from the optics.
Step one - check if the line in all colors, run copy quality check through Menu and diagnostics, if the line is only on one color your problem is the toner cartridge.
Step two - if the line is on all colors, take the drum unit out and look at the drum, if you see the line on the drum you need to replace the drum unit.
Step three - stop a print in during the printing process by turning the printer off, take out the drum and look at the printed paper under the drum, if the printed page is clear of line your problem is in the fuser.
Good luck.

I changed the drum to my HP LJ 2500L and now ot only prints in black and white. I have triple checked it's the right drum and there are no errors showing up. What's the problem?

Print a Configuration page, if it is grayscale, you probably installed a bad drum.
Make sure that "color" mode is selected in the program you are using or the printer driver. Check and see if "grayscale is selected.
If you are printing transparencies, they ONLY print grayscale.
Go to hp.com and download the latest drivers.

Brother MFC-6800 1. Prints with 3/8" blank vertical line down the entire page; 2. Prints with a couple of 1/16" blank vertical lines down the entire page; 3. Prints with some gray shadow...

This solution is unconventional but it worked for me. The black roller on my MFC had irregularities on it and was creating horrible printouts. I pulled out the drum and cartridge and cleaned the large black roller. I used furniture polish to make the roller very smooth. Now it prints really nice.

Dark line is printed on the right side of every

Most likely this is the drum. Take a damp cloth and clean the top of the drum roller. This should fix the problem. Good Luck.

u better check the haftone test first, when printer starts to pict the paper, just let the printer to print paper, stop the paper before entering the fuser unit located back side,if the output is perfect, then it is the problem with the fuser assy, pls revert for further solution or query

Horizontal lines

Depends on whether the "lines" are colored or just blank areas missing in the print . If it is blank areas , then most likely the laser scanner is dirty and the glass needs to be cleaned . If it is colored lines , then you most likely have a defective drum .

Three broken horizontal lines across all printed pages

sounds like a bad (defective) toner cartridge. You can also try cleaning the corona wire again.
